We wanted a quick getaway just for the two of us to celebrate our anniversary and also as a mini Babymoon as we are having our 4th child at the end of the month. We fell in love with the property. The food, especially the free breakfast, was amazing. You can taste the freshness. The perks of being in a farm! It's a little pricey but definitely worth it!

Room Tip: We stayed at Camping Cottage and it was lovely. We will probably try Treehouse or Helicopter Suite next time!

We stayed for 3 wonderful days. Although the weather was not optimal for outside activities we still managed to have a wonderful time. Dinner was incredible and they were very accommodating to our dietary restrictions. Breakfast was delicious, and the mini croissant and Danish they bring out is INCREDIBLE. We enjoyed biking around the property, sitting by the pool was also very nice. We enjoyed the spa- great massages. The only thing i wish the spa offered was an indoor pool/hot tub. Our treatments though were great. We will be sure to return

Room Tip: personal choice esp if you have a special interest (art, library, helicopter, etc...)mayappeal Cant go wrong in any of them

We had an amazing week at Winvian! We stayed in the Stone Cottage and Beaver Lodge. We loved both. The beds and bedding were top notch, the baths, steam showers, mini bar, screened porches, bikes, wait staff, lovely grounds, charming communities surrounding Winvian, the pool and a lovely spa...were all top notch! The food at the Winvian was superb! We did breakfast most mornings, and several dinners. What a treat! The Chef was incredible, our food was beautiful and delicious! We also enjoyed West Street Cafe and D’Francos Pizza, and Altheusa Ice Cream! We kayaked at Bantam Lake and Lake Waramaug. We also ate dinner at Hopkins Inn at Lake Waramaug. The view at Hopkins was stunning...we sat on the balcony overlooking the lake. The food was good, but Winvian was the BEST! We took a day trip to Mystic, and toured the town...ate Lobster and saw the Mayflower 2 being restored.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! It is pricey, but we thought it was well worth it! Thanks to the manager for making everything right! Blessings!

Winvian Farms is located near Litchfield, Conn. In 2 hrs (2.5 hrs during heavy traffic times) you arrive at a lovely main house greeted by a friendly staffer who quickly checks you in and accompanies you to one of the individual cottages. We choose Stable, a cottage with close proximity to a lovely pool. Stable has three levels with couches and TV on entry level, master bedroom on the middle level and bathroom, shower and large tub on lower, third level. It is large and spacious for four persons.
A generous breakfast is included. Indoor Games like Pool, Foosball and mini shuffle, are available in the main house. Visitors never need to leave property as badminton, assorted balls and bean bag toss are spread throughout property.
If you decide to leave for a day adventure, try Arthusa for best ice cream. For $3.00 get the equivalent amount of what seems like a pint so share....or not.
Try blueberry picking at March Farms and then visit the attached play area or cross the street to feed the goats. Have lunch at The Village in Litchfield. Then a short drive can take you to Thorncrest Farms where you can get close to diary cows and learn how the farm produces milk that is then turned into delicious chocolates by the farmer’s wife, Kim. Products are for sale, naturally.Winvian Farms concierge can make arrangements for farm visit. We visited mid week and enjoyed a light guest environment. It is a wedding venue so inquire when making reservations. A fun family spot without doubt. My 5 and 8 grandchildren loved it.

We took this getaway at Winvian Farm after a grueling two year project came to an end, and I really needed to exhale and unwind. This was the right choice. We stayed in the Connecticut Yankee Cottage with our dog, Henry. It was quiet, comfortable and the bathroom was incredible. The grounds were perfect for nice walks and the spa treatments were relaxing. We told them we were vegan and we weren't expecting the outrageously exquisite meals that the chef prepared for us. It was heaven - he really is a talented chef and prepared beautiful, colorful, creative and delicious vegan dinners for us. We got to hike in the area and explored the surrounding cities too. It was really a beautiful place. I still think about it, and hope to return sometime soon.
