Very similar to every other Howard Johnsons I've stayed at, however this felt more motel-y than others.

I had a room with 1 king bed which did only had a small window - no walk out. The bathroom looked repainted recently but it was very old. The shower/tub, toilet and sink were clean but really old. The ceiling in the bathroom was a little yucky too.

The room had a nice desk and was really big with enough space to hang clothes. It had a safe, mini fridge and microwave, coffee pot.

The best part about this was the location. We visited the aquarium (this hotel is in walking distance, about a mile) and seaport and it was super easy to get everywhere. There's a diner and Friendly's next door where you can get 10% off when you show your room key.

There is a pool that was really crowded and loud the night we stayed - but it looked like everyone was having fun. Vending machines on every floor.

If I were to visit Mystic again, I'd likely stay somewhere else that was a little more updated.

The experience was good right from the start with Tammy at the Front Desk. She was pleasant and gave us a lot of good advice for our visit. Our room could not have been any better. Clean and Fresh. Plenty of Outlets and USB Ports everywhere. The Fridge and Microwave came in handy. Our patio made is perfect to park and go from car to room with our luggage. When we came back from dinner, there were cookies in the lobby. The TV remote had a sleep time THAT WORKED!!! (one of my pet peeves). In the morning, Tammy was there once again, recommended a breakfast location and she was definitely right. To top it off, we saw a sign that stated they are pet friendly. WE WILL BE BACK

Have stayed here several times. Rooms are clean, nice size, much cheaper to stay than in the Foxwoods Casinos, and only 20 minutes drive to them. There is a diner attached to the hotel, so very convenient. Prices are reasonable as well.
