I have been eating pizza at Pepe's for 60 years and never once went to their competitor - Sally's (no longer there). The coal oven makes the pizza great. Service is fast, even if there is a line outside you will get in somewhat quickly. We had the GREAT white clam pizza and a pepperoni/onion pizza. Both still fantastic. The white clam pizza is their invention - actually pizza in America was invented here too. If in New Haven - head to Wooster St.
