My wife and myself visited on Friday. I was initially concerned with the name, I assumed it might be a little trendy. I was completely wrong, the restaurant is comfortable, low key and the tables are not on top of each other. Our waiter, Brian, was first rate, the food was first rate, and the prices were reasonable. Sometimes you can't judge a book by its cover [name].

Went on a Saturday night. 6 of us. We had a table in the bar area. Noise level a little loud, but could still talk. Complimentary bruschetta was good, meatball salad reported to be very good. All dishes received positive reviews. Veal chop with peppers, grilled salmon, ravioli, and papendelle with meatballs...all good. The only disappointment was the artichoke appetizer. I was under the impression it was a whole stuffed artichoke, but were 4 small pieces with goat cheese. I like when restaurants have printed versions of their specials...less chance for misinterpretations. All in all a good restaurant...nice after dinner complimentary drink.

If you are a lover of the Italian dishes from "old time Italy" then this place is a MUST! Hubby and I go there at least once a month, the 1 1/4 hour drive is so so worth it. Every app is beyond delicious, every entrée is beyond perfect. Sit at the bar and enjoy your fabulous meal with knowledgeable bartenders such as Brooks, Vinny or Anthony. Sit back and enjoy old Italy right in New Haven, if you're brave enough try the Eggplant tower app!!

Much better than you would think considering the name of the restaurant. Love the meatball salad...unique option for lunch. Traditional menu for dinner with some unique twists. Full bar and very helpful, colorful staff. Has a local neighborhood feel with modest prices.

Goodfellas offers the same level of service at lunch time. The meals were huge and arrive quickly. The dinner menu was also available if you choose to indulge. Movies are playing on the TV's but they are muted. Metered parking on the street.
