We visited New London after a day of travel and were looking for a place to eat dinner. The choice of different cocktails are excellent - even tried one I had never heard of before and it was delicious. We ordered our meal and the service was very slow. There were a couple parties and all were eating long before us and one party came in after us and left before us but they were having many small selections instead of a big meal. Had the fish & chips and would have preferred French fries with my fish instead of chip chips. Don't go on a weekend evening if you are in a hurry.

Many of our summer restaurant destinations revolve around boating....finding venues walking / cycling distance from harbors with menus we'd likely not produce at home or afloat. Dev's is slightly south of the main restaurant district in New London, so frankly we'd not have found it without TripAdvisor. We were a wee bit concerned when we arrived during a late August Saturday Happy Happy Hour, and found no diners, but a few folks at the bar. The menu offered many interesting Tapas as well as more typical dinner selections. We ordered 6 different tapas selections for the 2 of us, plus drinks. The selections reflected a wide range of influences, which added to interest. They also do a good job of providing / identifying choices to folks with dietary restrictions, including vegan, and gluten-free.The food presentation was very nice, prices reasonable for the small portions, although I have to say some dishes slightly under-delivered in flavor 'pop'... but the entire experience revolved around the amazing and engaging Miss Bunny, hostess, whose interaction elevated this from a meal to an experience. I definitely think we benefited from being there early, when things were bit slow... we plan to return.

I should have realized that this restaurant is really a tapas bar, that is, one that primarily serves food as an accompaniment to drinks. In the same vein, food service was a bit sow, perhaps in order to induce customers to drink more.

They do have some full-size entrees but I decided to make a meal of the small plates, at least one of which (salmon cakes) turned out to be pretty small (tasty, however). Potatoes brava was excellent - very thin sliced potatoes of several varieties probably like what potato chips originally were.

The wine list needs to be improved. It consists of some lower grade Italian and Spanish wines. One gets a glass smaller than in many other places but which costs $ 8-10, which is overly high by a dollar or two for wines of this class. They should either improve the wine list or increase the quantity in a glass and lower the prices.

My husband and I stopped in for dinner and while the service was on par, unfortunately the food was not. We ordered various tappas and frankly, with the exception of only one, the rest were not edible--over salted and just plain nasty. We mentioned something to the server who said the owner would come out to talk to us but after waiting for a least 15 minutes , we just paid the bill and left. We will never return. Much better food at Gaspers, Daddy Jacks and the Seehund next door.

We have eaten here many times. The hospitality is always wonderful with "Bunny" greeting you as old friends. The tapas selections are somewhat limited in number but all are delicious, although portions are a bit skimpy compared to Barcelona and other Tapas restaurants.
