Could be a very nice hotel: for the nice garden, the good position and the basic but nice rooms. While in reality it is a very bad kept hotel, scruffy, with no air conditionned and with the rooms full of .... guests (insects and parasites). The english owners are quite nice, but they should realize that their hotel is in the firm need to receive a deep and quick refresh.

The Inn, surrounded by gorgeous nature, trees and plants, could be better managed and there is room for improvements in the rooms, in the services and on the general situation of the lodge.
No air conditioning available. WiFi is supposed to work but is very very slow.
There were some insects in the room and in the bathroom: I do not care a lot about them, but....
My impression is that with some efforts many small details could be improved and therefore making the staying more pleasant.

Dear Mario,

Thank you for your constructive criticism of Rivertrees. It is true that while our wifi and laptop are complimentary for guest use, the speed will depend on our provider, which can fluctuate at times. All rooms at Rivertrees are equipped with high speed fans.

We invite you to write us directly at info@rivertrees.com with your suggestions on how the lodge could be better managed so that we may learn from your experiences while staying at Rivertrees.

Kind regards,
Kimberly & David Setzermann

We stayed here for two nights at the end of our safari and I can't imagine a better place for us to relax and reflect on our amazing journey. Rivertrees is truly a special and wonderful place. One of those gems that is difficult to define. The grounds are beautiful and all the common areas and rooms have charming and authentic character. The staff and the food were excellent and the hospitality overall was top notch...generous, warm and memorable. A bonus is the commitment of the management to give back to the community including the hiring and sourcing of all of their food and materials locally which is to be commended. We look forward to our next visit and we highly recommend to all!

recommended; nice location btw arusha and moshi; very good food and service; management/staff very kind and flexible - baby sit can be arranged to allow you having a romantic dinner; rooms are fine for couple, but slightly small for a family with kids. unique garden, to explore - special sight the couple of owls; walk on river side too.

Room Tip: suggest the "old" rooms, not the new ones because the terrace outside isnt so great as in the old rooms

I stayed at Rivertrees for a night although I wish I stayed longer, it was lovely. The room decor is tasteful and the beds are super nice, the showers have great water pressure. The service is not only impeccable but also very personal. The grounds are beautiful, monkeys run all over and the landscaping is gorgeous. Both the dinner and the breakfast was tasty.
Try to avoid the room next to the common area right behind the store, if anyone is talking there, you can hear every word. It was pretty noisy and certainly not private.
And while it's relatively close to Kilimanjaro airport, it's a bit of a track from Arusha.
Overall it's a fantastic lodge and I'd say it's an ideal place to finish a Safari before flying out.
