My wife and I recently tried this for dinner, and while we read several negative reviews, we were very pleased by the service and food. We originally tried sitting outside, but it was unusually cool, and the space heaters just weren't warming us up enough. No problem...they moved us inside, kept the same waitress, and had a great time and meal. I loved the meatball appetizers, and my wife had a really tasty salad. I was disappointed they ran out of lasagna ( a good follow-up to my starter), but their steak made up for it, and my wife enjoyed a fish special. They had live music outside for the warmer customers, but their music made a nice background to our dinner inside as well. Overall, it was a really nice evening, and far better than we anticipated from the poor reviews. Everybody there treated us really well ( maybe it's a two-way street?), and the food and value was a nice comparison with pricier places.

We walked in to the restaurant and the ambiance was nice, with live music, however they sat us right next to the kitchen, when there were other tables available. We sat down and ordered (plenty of gluten free options), and waited a while to be served. They brought the kids food out 20 minutes before the rest of the food came out, and we had no silverware. After asking the waitress for silverware and then for napkins, all of our food was served. The portions were very small for the cost , the rice was not cooked, and drenched in sauce. The fish was very mushy and oily. After informing our waitress that our food was less than satisfactory, she said she couldn't bring us new dishes, but reimbursed us for the cost. As we finished up our dinners, she didn't fill up our waters at all, and was busy flirting with the chef (who was too busy talking to be cooking). We politely declined desert, and cooked dinner back on our boat. Save yourself the time and money, choose a better restaurant.

We had a reservation for 7:15 and arrived a couple of minutes late to be shown "our table" and the couple that was "just about to leave." We were invited to wait at the bar, which was unattended. Finally a bartender showed up and took the order from some people who arrived after we did, then made our drinks. There we sat and, with difficulty, got a second drink as the minutes crawled by. At 8:00, 45 minutes after our reservation, we paid, left the coin part of the change as a tip and left, noticing that "our table" was occupied by four people well into their meal.

We obviously can't comment on the food, and little can be said about the drinks or the meager wine choices, but we can say that we have rarely seen, at any restaurant, staff that was less competent and less interested in its customers. We are winter residents of this island and suspect we got the cavalier, snarky treatment this place gives tourists.

We had a 7 p.m. reservation and were seated right away. We ordered but did not receive our appetizers until 8:30 and main course until after 9. The waiter kept apologizing but that didn't help our appetites or moods. The table next to us had some other locals who were obviously more important. They arrived at 7:30 and were out by 9:30. All the restaurant in Boca Grande have good food. The difference is, the others have good service. I will not be going back to Third Street.
