My wife and I (and three small children) stayed at this resort for our second year in a row. We left the craziness that was Orlando in April to retreat to the quieter west coast of Florida. Even though the hotel was pricy ($300/night) during the high season it was worth it. The resort looks over the eastern bay and the sunrise is magnificent. The sunset at the Sand Key State Park across the street is just as good. The pool and waterfall are great for children of all ages. The food is very good - especially the dinner. Plenty of special events each night for the family. The service at this hotel is outstanding - we were amazed with how quickly they responded to our many requests each day. The one drawback is that the rooms are described as suites but really aren't very big. A small bedroom with a tiny bathroom and then a small living room with a small pull-out couch and tv. The bathroom borders on rv camper size. Even so, if you are looking for a comfortable, scenic hotel away from the busy part of Clearwater Beach than this is a great choice.
