Stayed here one night in November and really enjoyed it! The location is excellent and the views of the canals are beautiful. The rooms are spacious but furniture and decor is very dated. Everything worked fine and we slept pretty well on the bed. Loved the heated pool and hot tub right by the water. I would definitely stay here again.

I love the Sea Captain. Just returned home to Massachusetts from a week long stay at the Sea Captain. It is quaint, quiet, and relaxing. Very clean and the staff is friendly. There is a great view of the ships and boats from the lawn. The beach is a two-minute walk across the street.

The area is full of huge chain hotels. This is a small place that is right on the water and easy to walk to everything. The staff was very nice. Don't expect a 4-Seasons experience...that is not what this place is. There was a nice living room with a small kitchenette. It's not the most modern place you have ever stayed but it is spotless. I own a hotel and I know where the dirt hides and I always look for it. This place is spotless!

This is a great place for you or your family to stay and save a few bucks. It is value priced and for the money, the value is great. I would stay here again anytime.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the harbor. It's a great view!

Stayed at the Sea Captain while on vacation and it was nice given its age. Very well kept on the outside and the rooms were nice. Enjoyed being able to go out and sit overlooking the pier. Didn't get her name but dark-haired girl in the office was very helpful. Maids were great and made animal shapes out of the towels which my son loved. Only noise issues were a floating restaurant across the pier that played loud music until 12:30 one night, well past when they were supposed to be closed. Also heard some people outside talking late a couple of nights but if you're in a suite it can't be heard from the bedroom. My one main complaint would be the "heated" pool isn't actually heated, was ice cold when we were there. You have to hope the weather is nice enough to keep it warm. Also the carpets could use a good cleaning. But other than that would stay there again.

This is a bit off old Florida in the midst of high rise hotels. We always opt to stay at the survivors of development in beach locations. Sea Captain was an excellent choice. Situated right on the water and within walking distance of the Pier, the Marina and the beach, we were not disappointed. The staff and room were more than adequate and the parking was free.
Sadly, the rumor is this sweet spot has been sold and will be replaced by another boring chain monolith. Glad we had the experience before the wrecking ball.
