DONT STAY HERE!!! - SummerPlace Inn Destin FL Hotel

DO NOT RECOMMEND! We stayed here for 3 nights and 4 days and that was too long! The only good thing I will say is that it's a great location and free breakfast but we will never go back. You always had to ring the bell for any staff, most were short and rude when we asked for extra towels (they only give you 2 in your room) and such and even had to ask for maintenance to come unclog our toilet. They offered us a plunger instead and told us they didn't know when maintenance would even be in. The smell of the room was HORRIBLE! It smelled like moth balls so bad that I'm having to wash everything multiple times to get the stench out, even my luggage! My friend checked into a extremely dirty room and when they asked to move rooms, the manager was rude and said it was just because it was a handicapped room instead of addressing the problem. I do not recommend this place at all. The price is low for a reason but not any good ones! Spend a little extra and get a better hotel.

This hotel offers a comfortable and convenient stay, with ample parking and nice-sized rooms that are clean and well-maintained. The beds are comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep, and the inclusion of a fridge in the room is a useful touch.
The hotel features both an indoor and outdoor pool, which were fairly warm and well-maintained. The hot tub is a nice addition, providing a relaxing experience. However, having to get towels from reception was a bit inconvenient and could be improved by storing them near the pool area.

While breakfast is included, we chose not to opt for this during our stay, so cannot comment on the quality.

One of the highlights of this hotel is its proximity to the beach. It’s just a 3-minute drive away, making it perfect for beach lovers. While it is possible to walk, the route involves crossing a busy highway, so driving is recommended. There’s also plenty of free parking at the beach, which is a bonus.

In conclusion, this hotel offers a comfortable stay with good facilities and convenient access to the beach. A few minor improvements could elevate the experience further, but in terms of price and location – we would recommend and stay again if visiting the area.

Horrible experience! The room wreaked with a strong pungent smell of smoke. This was advertised as a smoke free property. My wife is allergic to smoke so we complained to the front desk and they came and sprayed the room the room with "odor ban." We were restless all night. We asked for a refund so that we could go to another hotel but we were denied. The guy at the desk was extremely rude and the hotel manager was also very insensitive and condescending. The sofa was torn and the phone in the room went in and out. Also, there is only one tiny cramped little sweat box that they refer to as an elevator. We usually stay at a brand hotel but we were here for Memorial Day weekend and wanted to stay an extra night so we took a chance on this "knock-off" hotel. Overall this was the absolute worst hotel experience that we've ever had! WARNING: Please do not book this hotel.
