Thanks for being our guests and for taking the time to provide your positive review! See you again soon.
We stayed the Friday before through the Friday after Thanksgiving. The check-in and check-out process were handled by friendly and knowledgeable staff members. Twice during the visit, we stopped in to ask questions of the reception staff and were completely satisfied with their responses.
We were in a 1-bedroom unit that we exchanged through a vacation club. It was located on the 2nd floor, in the middle of the South building. Because of the location, we were pretty isolated from any revelry or music coming from the bar/restaurant. Even from the balcony, we could barely hear others.
Speaking of the balcony, it was facing the rear of the resort next-door. Because of the location, it felt private: windows at the other resort were not really overlooking us and the building's balconies were offset so our Beso del Sol neighbors were invisible. The balcony overlooked a small, grassed area. I would caution that, if you are sensitive to cigarette smoke, smoking is allowed on balconies and, indeed, an ashtray is supplied on the balcony. We could not always use the balcony because of neighbors' smoke.
The unit's interior was remarkably clean. I always carry sanitary wipes to clean rental-room surfaces before we "move in," however whatever I removed here was completely invisible. Light switches, appliances, floors, sinks and toilets--everything--were spotless!
The unit was well-stocked. Kitchen appliances and utensils were more than adequate for us, however we really only ate breakfast, made a few sandwiches and heated soups and leftovers. We lucked out in that we had an oven (as well as a microwave and range), so were able to bake refrigerated biscuits, too. We also had a full-sized refrigerator, however there was no dishwasher so we hand-washed our few dishes.
As an exchange guest, the unit came with an initial supply of toilet paper, paper towels and facial tissues and we provided more through the course of the week. Surprisingly, we were given another supply at the mid-week towel-exchange visit. We were also provided a goodly supply of body-, hair-, and dish-cleaning products.
Through-the-wall air conditioners were somewhat difficult to regulate, however we have often been in rooms with this feature.
Though the drapes covering the sliding-glass door to the balcony were light-blocking, the bedroom's window covering was horizontal blinds--good for privacy but not for sleeping. Coach-style lights along both the north and south buildings' walkways were on all night and shone into the bedroom window. Fortunately, we had a blanket in the car; we draped it over the window to block some of the light.
Beso del Sol's location was fantastic. I walked every morning--sometimes into downtown Dunedin. Along the way to Dunedin (and also in the opposite direction), there were waterfront parks, some simply with benches and some with full-featured docks and playgrounds. Many restaurants and stores were on the way to or in Dunedin. The Jolly Trolley stop was right outside the resort (though I have to say we never quite figured out the route or schedule--but that's another story).
A sign recommending Marker 8 pizza was in the unit. My husband looked for the restaurant but couldn't find it. Later, we learned the name had changed.
We were a short drive from Honeymoon Island State Park and its beach (the ferry to Caladesi Island State Park goes from Honeymoon Island, too), as well as the Publix grocery store and numerous additional restaurants.
We were also within reasonable driving distance of St. Petersburg and Tampa, where we enjoyed days at the Dali and MOSI museums.
We would definitely come back--for both the Resort and location. We were always doing something fun or relaxing (even though we never did use the pool, bikes or bar/restaurant here!) and we found Dunedin's atmosphere and offerings (stores, market, festivals, restaurants) laid-back and not nearly as pricey as other west-coast Florida locations.
Looks like you made good use of all that we have to offer and thoroughly enjoyed your stay with us. Thank you so much and we look forward to your return visit very soon.
My Husband and I just spent 2 weeks at Beso Del Sol Resort in Dunedin, Florida (Nov. 2017). It was our first stay but it definitely won’t be our last. We absolutely loved it. Our 2 bedroom unit was amazing. The food at the resort restaurant is oh so good. The staff throughout the resort are top notch, all so very friendly and helpful. The location of this resort is perfect. So close to so much. We loved having the use of the bicycles. We rode the miles of trails, which are literally around the corner, almost every day. It was a great way to see the area (such as Clearwater, Tarpon Spring, etc.). The pool was heated. The view from the restaurant/bar/pools/hot tub is awesome. The perfect spot to enjoy the sunset. It’s amazing how they celebrate the sunset each day by providing all the guests with a free ‘shot’ to toast the occasion. From the deck we actually saw dolphins one day. So amazing! I just can’t say enough about this resort. If you haven’t been you just need to book up and go, you won’t be disappointed.
We love receiving reviews like yours! This is why we created Beso Del Sol Resort, to provide nice folks like yourselves with a memorable vacation experience. My husband and I stayed a few nights at this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The room itself was spacious with a full kitchen. We loved the tiki hut and patio overlooking the water. It's a great little place. Excellent service and very clean.
Thank you very much. I especially appreciate the comments about excellent service and cleanliness. We hope you'll come back to see us again when you can stay for more than just a few nights!
This place has its act together. Great location, nice rooms, EXCELLENT service, complimentary access to a full gym near by. close to the Pinellas Trail for biking and running. Local breweries all around. Near historic Main Street. It is a definite keeper! Also, a popular bar/pub with entertainment is on site,
Thanks Gary! We try hard and your acknowledgment of the efforts of our awesome staff are greatly appreciated. Thanks and come see us again soon.
Came here with my wife’s family for a long weekend getaway. We booked two rooms and they were very clean minus the pull out sofa sheet, but we switched it out. Overall we really enjoyed the hotel as the beach towels and information about the area was great. Beds were very firm and the parking situation was odd. On one occasion we couldn’t find parking due to the restaurant on site having many patrons on a busy Saturday night. Not enough to complain about since the valet was very helpful. Overall a great place and value, we will definitely stay here again.
So glad that you and your family enjoyed a great stay with us and that the parking attendant was helpful and able to assist you with onsite parking! We look forward to your return.
