We stayed at the Dolphin Inn because of the location and cost. We did not want to stay near the bridge and touristy area. We prefer the lass crowded side of the beach and drive to the areas of interest We knew most of our time would be spent on the beach and outside of any resort or hotel room. The Dolphin Inn gives you a quiet place to sleep with a good location. This place is not your 5 star resort with all types of amenities so if that is what you are looking for keep looking. It does offer a clean place to stay with no worries. The staff is very accommodating even for our after hour check in. I would stay at this place again

We stayed here for one night before going to Key West via the Key West Express. Then we spent another night when we came back. The room itself was fine, beds were comfortable and the best part, in my opinion, is the view in the back. There’s a long canal leading out to the ocean. The bad for me was the bathroom/shower. The shower is so small and it just didn’t feel very clean. The water from the shower in both rooms where we stayed was angled so high and back that it hit the back wall and not our bodies. We could not adjust the shower head at all. The vanity sink sits so close to the shower that the water hits it and the wood is turning black from mold. It just doesn’t look good.

booked on expedia not knowing the area too well. Fort Myers Beach is an island and this hotel is at the end of it. Quiet area, not too much traffic or people on the beach. surrounded by condos and other hotels.
Pros: cheap, small (only 20 rooms), nice owners/staff, two grills out back if you don't want to spend tons of money eating out, walk across the road and alongside another hotel and you're on the beach, beach was not crowded at all in that area, decent, clean pool and pool area
Cons: parking was an issue two of our three nights there, not the cleanest but not filthy, it takes 20 minutes to get "off" the island" from the location, they do not do maid service daily, only two tiny bar soaps provided-no other toiletries (though we didn't ask either). pictures made it seem larger than it is...we had a bay side room and I wouldn't try to put more than two people in there, it's tight. website made it seem bikes are included-they are $5 a day. kayaks are free, but ours sunk as soon as we got in the water because it did not have plugs.

We stayed here for just one night while my daughters played in a beach volleyball tournament just down the street. We had read the great reviews and decided to give it a try. It was clean, nice size rooms, nice pool and very personal. Something you don't get much of anymore. The owner was in the office when I checked out and he was so pleasant and thanked us several times for choosing his resort. He also told us we were welcome to come back when we were done at the beach to jump in the pool if we needed to, even though we had checked out. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is that sheets on our bed were very scratchy, and pillows were very flat. I usually bring my own pillow when I travel but forgot this time, so woke up with a little bit of stiff neck. Otherwise ..great spot!
