This is a great place to see a lot of wildlife! We saw gators, birds, turtles, fish, and even a snake down in the water. The boardwalks and gravel trails are well kept. A perfect place to see a lot of Florida’s wildlife in one convenient place. We would definitely go back.

Very nice place to visit. Lots of ducks, birds, alligators and horses. The only thing is not enough shade. I wish the gravel walkway was paved.

A lot of trails to walk. We say a lot of alligators and many different birds. Stop and read the boards they have a lot of interesting information on how the wetlands work. Make sure that you pay for parking because they do check and give out tickets. It is only $5 and helps with the park. There is another entrance right down the road that goes more through the woods. That was very pretty.

My wife and I are avid birders. We saw many beautiful posts of pics from this place. so, we planned a trip. It was a great walk. Take water. we carry lots of heavy camera equipment, so, it could be difficult if not used to walking. it's all flat though. we saw wild horses. snail kite. American bitterns. Black crowned night herons. The list goes on.... will be back!

The Sweetwater Wetlands Park is an excellent place to visit to view wildlife near Gainesville,Florida. While it takes a bit of walking it is accessible by public transport. The park is very accessible with wide gravelled paths and elevated boardwalks. There is a minimal entry fee. There are information signs but there could be more species specific information near the entrance and the web page could include public transport information. Very enjoyable visit
