Beautiful, well maintained resort. Sites are large with a combination of gravel and patio bricks. Landscape is beautiful and provides privacy between each site. Views are of the Gulf. Not far from Old Key West, lots of things to see and do. Nice pool, friendly staff. Love this RV resort and look forward to returning.

The rv resort itself is lovely and pretty and very well maintained, we visited as part of our rv roadtrip holiday from the UK and were just a little taken back by the ammount of rules that are in place. On our two week stay around the south-east U.S we stayed in many parks including privately owned and state owned and none had such strict, slightly petty rules and all others had more facilities. The positives before negatives are a great pool, nice sized pretty sites (paved), outdoor fridge, tiki hut, it’s a peaceful resort, only 20 mins ($40 uber each way) to Key West and friendly staff. I’m a positive guy and don’t dish out criticism easily or often but there’s a few things you need to know if your thinking of booking.

• There is no onsite store of any kind or vending machines (nearest mini-mart is 2.5 miles & closed on Sundays)

• You are not allowed to take your motorhome out of the park once you have entered until the end of your stay (fine if you have a car, we didn’t)

•Only showers / toilets on site are located by the pool and there’s only two (long walk if end of resort like we were at plot 66) I would’t class these as main shower rooms i belive they’re supposed to be used just for the pool area.

•No charcoal bbq’s allowed (only propane)

•No open flames allowed i.e tiki torches etc

•Not allowed to to arrive to check-in after dusk (wasn’t an issue for us)

•You’re not allowed to hang out your washing on your site

When we booked months ago none of these rules were advertised on the bluekey’s website, we only found the rules via email to us about a week before check-in. Am only giving this advise for future rv’ers as I would of appreciated the details before booking.

I would recommend if you can get the state park down the road then do, from my experience they offer a lot more at a lot less price.

Dear Ashley G,

Thank you for your review and we're happy that you had a nice stay at our Resort. We hope that you return on your next visit to the US. Our staff takes pride in maintaining our common areas and our Owners try to make their sites accommodating to their guests.

In an effort to respond and clarify some of our rules and policies, please see below:

- We do not offer an on-site store as there is a small Baypoint Market within a short 15 minute walk northward outside of the Resort. They provide some basics, and they have a great sandwich shop. There is also a full-service restaurant (Fish) and a coffee shop (Baby's Coffee) within walking distance. In addition, there is a safe walking path right outside gate, adjacent to the Overseas Hwy, that allows for easy access to these local facilities.

- All of our sites are privately owned and separated by lush tropical landscaping and decorative structures. In addition, our streets are somewhat narrow. In order to prevent damage to personal property belonging to our guests and the owners, the maintenance staff assists our guests in parking their rigs upon arrival, and we ask that guests not leave the Resort in those vehicles until departure. Not only is it potentially dangerous moving RVs in and out without assistance, especially at night, but it may be disruptive to neighboring guests.

- According to the governing documents of the Association, all RVs must be self contained with their own bathroom and shower facilities and they must be able to hook up to the water, sewer and electric that we provide on every site. Therefore, the shower facilities provided for public use are primarily designed for pool use. We appreciate that our guests use their own facilities for their other daily hygiene.

- Due to the extreme flammability of our tiki hut roofs that are made from natural thatch material, we do not allow open flames that can produce flying embers. If one tiki hut catches fire, there is the potential for complete destruction of our beautiful Resort.

- We try to maintain guest arrivals before the office closes at 5pm so that our on-site staff can have their own free time after hours. We also recognize that unexpected circumstances can occur that might invoke a late arrival. Under those circumstances, our staff will try to accommodate your late arrival, but we do not park guests after dark due to the same reasons that we do not allow our guests to come and go at night in their RV. Parking RVs at night is a set-up for damage to your property and/or to ours and is also disruptive to our other guests.

- The Association takes pride in that Bluewater Key®️ RV Resort is a 5-star rated luxury RV Resort; it is not a "campground" and we try very hard to maintain it as such. If you have towels or other wet items from swimming, we ask that you not drape them over your awning rails or hang them on clothes-lines. We understand that after swimming, you may have wet towels and swimsuits and we do allow you to be hung from the back of a chair (out of site) under the tiki hut. This restriction is written in our Covenants and even Owners are not allowed to hang out laundry on their own sites where it may be visible from the street.

- We note that all of these rules and policies ARE located on our website under "rules and policies." In addition, many are again listed on your reservation confirmation and noted upon arrival by our Concierge staff. The intent of all of our rules and policies is to provide a comfortable atmosphere of relaxation and enjoyment for our owners and ALL of our guests. We look forward to your visit in the future. Safe travels!

Very well maintained high-end RV park about 14 miles north of Key West. RV's rest on nice gravel, and the rest of the campsites, (if you can call them that), are mostly all brick. No dirt. Each site has a covered Tiki hut. Ours could seat about a dozen people. Nice pool & laundry room. RV's must be 24' or bigger, & must have a bathroom & shower. No tents or pop-ups here. Landscaping is awesome. Lots of tropical plants. Ocean side can be a bit breezy. Canal side has nice lighting at night. The Lower Keys bus stops right in front of the Park. $4.00 per ride, $1.00 for seniors.

We love this place! Rita at rvkeywest.com always gets us a spot at this resort. We had a perfect visit except for when the camp staff were shooting and killing the iguanas and dumping them in the mangroves to stink. That was very disturbing; to say the least. Other than that I would highly recommend.
