Upon arrival we were blown away with the size of the resort. Check in was a simple process and the front desk agent was informative - however she left out one very IMPORTANT detail that will be explained below.
Our room was dated but clean - definitely is not the updated versions in the pictures. We were placed along the very busy road so we hear a lot of noise traffic and sirens well into the early hours of the morning. The pool near our complex (Sandy Ridge) was extremely dirty every day, our last day there were styrofoam pieces in the pool along with other debris.
One great thing was anytime we phoned for extra paper towels, bedding, towels, a play pen as we travelled with an infant even a kettle they were quick to deliver. Everything was delivered in a brown paper bag which in theory is nice however not good for the environment. Our safe in the room was broken - we didn't bother calling because it was just another thing on the list of phone calls we made to them.
They did not supply near enough garbage bags or toilet paper - we purchased our own toilet paper and by the end of the trip were using our grocery bags for the garbages. There was also no where to recycle anything so we sadly dumped everything in the dumpster.
The dishwasher in our room did not wash the dishes well and left lots of dirt behind on clean dishes. Often we would rewash or wash by hand.
There were ants in the front bedroom and washroom and when we called about it no one came to fix the issue - we were on the second floor. I would not expect ants on a second floor.
The waterpark was nice, water was heated which was a nice bonus. Service was super SLOW! Waiting at times for 30 mins for a drink at the bar. How on the Thanksgiving week do they only staff one bartender? The place wasn't even completely full. They also had no towels. We continued asking throughout the day at the park. How do they not have enough towels for the amount of seats they have?
Food at the waterpark was good - affordable prices too in my opinion with lots of options.
The road to turn onto to get to the 192 was terrible at times. Difficult to turn left with so much traffic - which was the exact traffic we could hear clear as day from our room.
It is within a close proximity to Disney which is nice.
To get around the resort we had to drive. We heard there was a shuttle service but we were never told at the time of arrival how to use this service. We never saw a shuttle, and did not call instead we drove.
My husband golfed on one of the golf courses - he complained that the grass was extremely dry and not of the standard he would expect - especially for the price. Seems to be a consistent problem after reading the other reviews.
Checkout was at noon, we asked for a late check out and they give us 1pm which was helpful. Our flight was leaving at 9:25 pm and we have a 4 month old so any extra time was a bonus. They did allow us to use the waterpark for the day after check out.
So we went down to the pool near our complex just before 11am, with plans to go back to the room at 12:30pm to finish packing and eat a quick lunch, Instead when we got back to the room none of our keys would work. We had 3 children and a baby all in our bathing suits and were driving distance from the main lobby. No car keys. Luckily one of us brought a phone (out of 4 adults) so I was able to call the front desk. I am not sure what we would have done had I not brought my phone we would have been stranded. Security came 15 mins later with a key to get in. We were told by the front desk receptionist that they deactivate the cards at 11am and we were to go to the front desk to get a key that would be active until 1. We were never told this. Not by the person who checked us in (remember check out is at noon) and not by the 2 agents we spoke to on the phone when we requested the late check out. Luckily i had brought a bottle for my baby to feed him while we were waiting or he would have been hungry and screaming his head off while we were outside the room. We could not find any staff on the property to even page or call the front desk for us.
Very disappointed with our experience. I expected more with a "5 star" resort and expected a higher standard with having a time share. Upon check out we were not asked how our stay was so we did not get a chance to voice our opinions directly.
Do yourself a favour and stay elsewhere.
