This guy is interesting. Italian that cooked in France then Louisiana and now in WP. Good selection of interesting food, Italian with Cajun twist. Good Gumbo and paninis. Want to try something different, try Caspers.

When you enter this European style Bistro style restaurant you're greeted by owner and French trained Chef Guissepe.

The Chef offers a full bistro menu of breakfast, lunch and dinners with a French-Italian flare including coffees, salads, sandwiches, and cooked fresh to order dishes. All delicious.

Also the last Friday of the month the Chef prepared a fix price epicurean dinner by reservation. Not to be missed.

Breakfast lunch dinner or just a coffee break don't miss this unique and fun restaurant in the heart of Lake Park.

Stop in and say hello to Chef Guissepe. Enjoy!

I almost don't want to write a review because I want to keep Casper's on Park all to myself. The drive to make Chef Giuseppe's expertise known to all is a stronger desire. We had a wonderful brunch on the morning after their French prix fixe meal the night before.
Chef Giuseppe was born in Rome and after formal culinary education and stints in Europe, opened 2 restaurants in New Orleans. Both were destroyed by Katrina and he was left with nothing. He relocated here to Florida and opened Caspers on Park. Casper is his dog, who has an outdoor room of his own on their bougainvillea-edged patio in front of the restaurant.
Giuseppe waited on us personally. I love a good Benedict and ordered his version of it. After enjoying a satiny, rich cup of Illy coffee and chatting with the neighboring patrons, also locals, Chef arrived with our meals.

The Benedict he served was nothing less than amazing. Two slabs of lightly-toasted French bread, almost croutons, were the base. Ripe tomato slices provided an acid contrast to the richness of the egg yolks and hollandaise, above. The next layer of prosciutto was a smoky contrast, with in-season asparagus for some delicate spring crunch.
The eggs were perfectly poached pillows: set, on the edge, and when broken open, slowly, luxuriously melting down over the dish.

The hollandaise is the real deal, dear. Chef adds a touch of orange zest to the sauce and it raises the sauce to a new level of delicious. Again, some subtle acid contrast. All in all, it was layered luxury.

I tried to taste my partner's Greek omelette, which looked good for a short while until he made it disappear. He all but growled at me so I took his word for it that it was very good. (Thank you for providing real butter and a good amount of it for the toast, chef.)

I can't wait to return to the corner of Park and Ninth in downtown Lake Park for some great NOLA food! Make sure you visit and Laissez les Bon Temps roulez!

Never would have found this place without Tripadvisor, on or way from Miami to Jacksonville. Stayed for lunch. I had a great salad with grilled, well-seasoned chicken. The kids got panini and were really happy. We also had the chicken & sausage gumbo which was really good. The portions are not huge, if you are really hungry.
