An unexpected bonus for our trip. Read the reviews so you know what to expect. The selection was was excellent, but not a lot "boutique" type rolls. However, all of those great standards are there with a few unique dishes mixed in.

The place is definitely the epitome of a "hole-in-the-wall". Be sure you look at the address on the door (920) as there is a place two doors down with a similar name, and I never saw "Katana" written anywhere outside.

The other reviews about the wait is true, but worth it. The place opens at 6pm, we were first in line at 5:20pm. By the time the place opened, there were at least 40 people in line.

We thought the service was greak. Mika was our server. We told her we were first-timers and walked us through the process. Very easy, drinks served fast, and Mika gave us some great specialty sauces as well.

We had 20 plates between the two of us, with 3 beers and hot tea. The total was $83. We were a little concerned that they may only take cash (again, that hole-in-the-wall feel), but they do take credit cards. Also, don't worry about a dress code...you will be fine.

Highly recommend this place when you are in the area.

Thank shamons

I live only one block away but the place opens at 6:03 and there is always a line at the door by 5:45.

Do you know what that means??? The best place in North Miami Beach.

The wait in line is worth every second. This is the best and freshest sushi in town.

The sushi is great, it is cozy. When my babe and i go its always been busy but we have not ever had to wait long, ten minutes at the most. The sushi is served on a boats that circle the prep area. You simply take of the plate from the boat as it passes. At times you may have to let a few boats pass before you see what you want though but worth the short wait.

We again had a great meal at Katana - Mika and Kengi are awesome - Paula is awesome too. We had the best sashimi and sushi as well as the Udon Noodles soup with Shrimp- great wine and sake. We love this spot in Miami over one hour wait - the wait is super long but worth the wait. Every time in miami we love to go to Katana - we ended the meal with Cheesecake Tempura with Vanilla and Green tea Ice cream!!! LOVED IT.

You would walk right past this small, dark but charming place. Once seated, small , freshly made delights float past on little boats! Delicious sushi.... Udon....tempura! Also very reasonably priced for Miami..... been back several times!
