As the website distinguishes this property as an upscale destination located in the trendy South Beach area, the service was overall good but the room can use some better regular inspections and upkeep.

I booked this hotel with certificates for a free weekend stay. At the time of booking, the going rate was $1200 per night. Upon arrival the hotel was very gracious in greeting us and attending to every need. It was clean and well situated to several restaurants. I had emailed the GM previously for an upgrade....while I never heard back, I was put in room 1017 which exceeded our expectations. It wasn't oceanfront technically, but had a 75% view of oceanfront, the first building in front blocked the other 25%. The suite had a kitchen and wrap around deck. There was a bottle of champagne and fresh strawberries waiting for us. Room was great and no complaints. I am a little surprised the hotel can changeover $1000 per night as it doesn't blow me away like a St Regis, but if you're looking for location and service then I could understand the uncharge. The beach is across a bike path and the umbrella service on the beach was great. Drinks brought promptly. We had so much fin at the hotel we didn't make it to main South Beach area. Christy at the front desk greeted us with a smile every time and helped another couple with us with an issue.

Room Tip: Room 1017 very nice

HHilton Bentley, South Beach, Miami Location - Location - Location Couldn't Be any closer to the Beach At least 4-5 of the top ten restaurants in Miami are within a mile walk.. They also have anything from towels to covered cabanas. YES they also deliver Cocktails

Bicycle rentals are available adjacent to the hotel to best explore Ocean Drive and South Beach's Art Deco District.

Came down to South Beach for New Year's Eve festivities. Location is unbeatable.

The hotel has big balconies, kitchenettes, large rooms.

I was surprised with the pool area. Very small pool with a few chairs/cabanas. The area is surrounded by large hedges so it is private, but might be too cramped for some folks.

Be flexible upon arrival. The valet area is far too small to safely drive. We parked the car in the road and let the valet handle the rest.

Hotel sits right on the beach. Chairs and a drink are complementary for Diamond members.

Breakfast buffet is also included for Diamond members. Very relaxing poolside buffet for the post New Year's morning.

Hotel is located near some amazing places to eat. Prime 112 is across the street, Prime Italian is on the first floor. You can't go wrong with either option.

Positives:
1) Rooms are large and clean.
2) Location is great
3) Nice to have a kitchen, even if only for the full size refrigerator

Cons:
1) The rooms lack that luxury feeling that higher end hotels normally have. Just okay - not great, not bad...
2) The service is very spotty. Front desk had one person working on New Year's Day - line was long as a result. She was very good at her job. The restaurant service...not so much. Not well trained, not attentive. We tried to signal for the check, he just looked at us and walked away (no, we were not being obnoxious he just had no idea what to do).
3) The food is very mediocre. Lunch was lukewarm instead of hot, not tasty, and they were out of our top picks. The breakfast buffet was mediocre as well. Found it ironic that they had very few lower carb options for a South Beach hotel :-)
4) As mentioned by other posters, people get there early and "reserve" chairs by the pool with a towel. When we arrived in the afternoon, maybe 20% of the chairs were occupied but the rest were "reserved." In the two hours that we ate lunch and tried to use the pool, more people wandered away but there were no lounges available. Staff didn't help out at all.

When we went to check out, they couldn't print out our bill. We left, and then discovered two extra items on our bill (I can only imagine they charged us for the "free" breakfast buffet). Three calls, and we still don't have a response - although the first two times we were assured that they would get back to us "shortly."

We've stayed at everything Hilton from great European hotels to Hampton Inns. I'd say some of the Hamptons had better service, rooms, and breakfasts.

Room Tip: Don't pay extra for beach view unless it is beach front - our view was a sliver.
