Let's start out by talking about the staff at this location:

We were a party of six and wanted to sit outside on a not-overly-busy night. Three members of our party arrived before the others but were told that they would NOT be seated unless everyone was present! Once everyone had shown up about two minutes later, we were graciously allowed to get a table.

Our group was met by the hostess with a mixture of disinterest and annoyance. Apparently, accommodating a group of this size required that two tables had to be put together - a task the staff was clearly not overly fond of. Still, the obliged and we were seated - which took about ten minutes.

We were then greeted by our waiter - who shown an equally lacking interest in serving us. It took forever to get a few drinks. Once the food arrived, it took forever to get just about any request - such as a refill on water!

During our meal the manager/owner stopped by to inquire how everything was. Frankly, if you put forth this kind of effort, I'd like it to be genuine. Thus, it would have been nice to wait for a reply rather than to just toss "How is everything?" at us only to keep walking while not paying ANY attention to what was said or whether anyone said anything. I think it would be better to not approach guests at all than to simply feign interest.

Fortunately for CVI.che 105, the food was simply spectacular. I ordered Lomo Saltado which tasted wonderfully, had the best-tasting onions ever, and which was made with excellent and tender meat. If you look at my other reviews, you'll find one for a nearby restaurant called "Suviche" where I ordered the very same dish - which was a less than stellar experience! I'd say the only downside to this dish was that the meat and sauce are placed atop french fries, thus rendering them quite soggy. Still, I was happy with my meal.

Had the staff been more attentive, friendly, and genuinely interested in our experience, I would have given this restaurant five stars. I understand that new restaurants always have a few hiccups and will go back in due time to give them another try.

I was dying for a Ceviche while on a photo-tour of an interesting Lincoln Rd. building, when BAM!!! I ran against C.VICHE 105 South Beach (I had been at the downtown location a few months back)!!! The hostess told me the table I wanted (window-side, inside, seated 2) was unavailable, so after a restroom walk-in I decided to ask the first "waiter" I encountered, "Can I please have *that" table because I have been walking and I am exhausted..." - the kind gentleman said, "Sure! It's yours" (as it turns out this was none other than Juan Chipoco (C.VICHE 105 restaurateur founder & chef himself!) A very kind Spanish waiter recommended the "Ceviche Ganador de Pescado" (the house champion!!) which I complied to along with an ice-cold Cusqueña beer. I devoured my Ceviche upon arrival, it's red color was a bit deceptive for a "heat fan" like myself (yes: Rocoto!!), so I had to order reinforcement and even that (i.e., the mashed-up rocoto sauce) didn't get me enough heat. The lime (a key ingredient in any ceviche, as ceviche lovers know) was not up to par (vs. the Peruvian or even South American counterparts), so all in all the ceviche lacked "kick", but it was delicious nevertheless. When I finished the Ceviche I wanted desert (something I seldom get cravings for), and this very nice lady suggested the Maracuyá Mousse. I was indecisive between this and a "Chicha Morada" which just happened to pop up to my mind. I went to the restroom for a break and upon my return the table featured an elegantly served mousse (in a Martini glass, with a chocolate garnish), and yes: a small but generous & delicious Chicha Morada on ice!!! I have to say the mousse was a solid 10/10 on my scale, truly delicious and full of pizzazz. The Chicha Morada was exquisite. The overall experience was excellent. I just hope one day Miami can import its limes straight from Perú, and maybe us heat fans can get a little more heat!! #cevichelover #heatlover
