“Good camp”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 November 2016 via mobile

Having visited a few jungle camps I am aware that you cannot compare these lodges to hotels - they are different things altogether. The staff were really nice - our guide, John was well informed and interesting. He did not bombard us with information (something I find tiring) but was really knowledgeable about the area and the animals. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. The food was good for a jungle lodge with plenty of variety. Our room was comfortable and clean with air conditioning (very welcome). The river cruises were motorised and we saw lots of monkeys, a giant lizard, hornbills and other birds and crocodiles. We also saw an orang Utan on our cave visit along with swiftlets and lots of cockroaches (in the caves not the lodge) also a boar and monkeys which visited the lodge area. Miraculously we did not get rained on once. Umbrellas were supplied but not needed. Tips if you have not been to a jungle lodge before:. Don't take all your stuff - try to leave some at another hotel and bear in mind you will carry your bag yourself. Your room will probably not be cleaned or towels changed unless you ask but ours was clean and well supplied on arrival and we were ok with this. Take mosquito repellant - very important! It is worth taking a wet bag for your cameras etc in case you get caught in rain. At this lodge we did not get a hairdryer but there are sockets - one next to a mirror - so you can take your own. It is very humid but dry in the rooms.

Not a place to choose unless coming to view wildlife from the river. Accommodation is in basic cablns with a/c, limited wifi is available in the lobby area but with little to see from the lodge except the occasional monkey.
Food is all served as a buffet, breakfast, lunch and dinner, the quality was mixed but always edible with a good selection of dishes available.
The reason people stay is to view the wild life from boat expeditions on the river, we saw wild Orang-Utans, Proboscis Monkeys, Silver Back Monkeys , Long Tail Macaques , snakes and large crocodiles. Many birds of prey were sighted along with occasional kingfishers. The guides from the lodge were excellent at spotting wildlife and explaining the habitats they lived in.
This is a trip well worth making if you have an interest in wildlife and photography which all makes the basic accommodation acceptable. All the staff at the lodge were really great and helped in every way possible to make it a memorable visit.

We did an overnight sat with our 3 year old son and it was a very pleasant stay. The staff we welcoming, helpful and professional. Our room was comfortable and clean and the setting in the rainforest was beautiful. Meals were good with a buffet for lunch and dinner offering a range of food (something for everyone). Breakfast was a cooked meal.

The afternoon cruise was good and we got to see proboscis monkeys up close and a couple of other species. The river is quite pretty and we preferred this over the Klias River cruise. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. We went on a night cruise also and got to see some birds like the beautiful kingfishers and a baby crocodile.

Would recommend a two day trip here if you want to see a beautiful river and wildlife. Also the lodge and staff are welcoming of small children.

Good place on the river bank. Cruises in the evening and night can spot lots of wildlife. Our guide Darwis was very informative and shared lots of details about the species and the ecosystem around the rainforest.

This is in the rainforest so when you keep that in mind it is a reasonable standard. We found the food surprisingly good ( other than one lunch) given their limited facilities . One thing that I noticed though was the staff kept lifting the lids of the hot plates which given the number of insects around seemed unnecessary. Staff all great and super friendly ( even chilling our tonic!). Cruises great and we saw wild orangutans, many birds and monkeys and even a few crocs. The night cruise under the stars was very chilled and lovely to hear the jungle noises. Guides excellent at spotting and with information. No issues with room as although some insects keeping the lights off in bathroom when not in there seemed to minimise any issues . Never had a hot shower but then not that cold out! Linen very clean. All in all good experience but think 2 nights all that is required. One hours free wifi a day too.
