Traveled here with my family. The location was quiet yet still right by the village. In the afternoon, we could bird watch from the hotel itself and once in a while, even saw macaques walking around. Food was decent given its remoteness and the day/night safaries were extremely enjoyable. Family had a great time.

We had a great stay here at the lodge.

The staff and the food were great.

The accommodation is basic but it's what we expected. Your staying on the edge of a rainforest and a river. We weren't expecting a 5 star hotel experience. You go for the wildlife and the boat cruises.

We saw so many birds and monkeys. We had 3 river cruises. We seen the most wildlife on the afternoon trips. But the morning trip was the most enjoyable. Seeing the sun rise over the river and going up a very narrow estuary to a hidden lake. Just unreal. We also managed to spot a huge crocodile on the river bank and we got very close to it.

A great experience for people who are looking for wildlife sightings.

The only downside is that when you have free time. There is very little to do. Other than sit in your lodge or in the communal food area. Make sure you download some movies or TV on your phone to watch as the WiFi connection is poor.

The river bank is littered with signs of many resorts. Choosing one where there is no road access means you are limited to the food of that place unless you take a water taxi. The lodge boats are not covered; Myne resort's boats had a cover. If it's pouring rain and your luggage and you are going across river to a bus or two hours down river, this might make a difference, or you are out wildlife spotting and it starts to pour. Food was basic and bland and never served hot as seemed norm throughout Malaysian Borneo hotels. You want to bring a mosquito net as rooms without fans had bugs buzzing around your head (walls aren't sealed well). I was in the best cabin in the place, one with a t.v. that didn't work (I don't use t.v.). You hear the mosque call to prayer from across the river in the am in all rooms. They burn leaves in piles right next to cabins so if you are sensitive give them notice so they don't burn before you arrive (maybe they could haul leaves away from the cabins then burn?). Women staff worked hard and were pleasant thus very good service rating.

Our room was basic but clean and tidy. The bathroom needed re-decorated and didn't seem all that clean. The food was OK, not all that much choice but edible. The staff seemed nice enough but seemed very uncertain of what to do - they were pretty much all young teenagers. No one seemed to be in charge.

What a tour through Amazing Borneo.

A special shout out to Azman and Captain Jack for being amazing tour guides and spotting animals from impossible distances!!

Gomantang caves were a really good introduction, seeing the maroon langur was a bonus!!

BRL was so calm and relaxing. Accommodation was excellent (are own chalet) and food varied and interesting. There is not much to do in between river cruises however sitting in hammocks, sunbathing, chilling and reading was ideal for us. The actual river cruises were awesome, I was surprised at the varied wildlife and the amount of it that you can see from the boats. The night cruise produced a different aspect to the rainforest and the ability to get so close to the birds. All the guides were excellent and informative.

Seeing the wild orangutans was the highlight and we were happy to watch them for ages.

Thank you Bilit!!!
