My husband and I, with our two children (10 and 11) recently stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel in Orlando Feb 5-8.
Beautiful property, very well maintained even though it was off season. We as many of the previous reviews purchased a package through their website with attached park pass specials. We arrived superbowl sunday and they had conveniently set up televisions in the lobby and a giant screen at the pool side for guest to watch the game from the heated pool, quite impressive to say the least.
Hotel room was average, clean and we did not experience any problems with insects or dirty towels, we did however find that our room was only cleaned very late afternoon (between 4-5).
Service at valet, check in, and around the pool was great. We had breakfast a few times at the Kitchen (really pricy for what you get) and were disappointed with the service and level of friendliness we received (a hello and a smile would not hurt), waitress did not want to attempt to answer any simple questions about Universal but advised us she work for the Loews hotel, ask universal, even the children recognized her curtness. Improvement definately required at this level.
Watertaxi was a convenient short to the parks, overall I would recommend this resort but would highly recommend dining at city walk or off site.More
