We went off magic kingdom for lunch, the food was excellent, I got a taster of soup as I'd never heard of it and it was tasty, there was a/c and WiFi, so both useful , no one minded how long we sat .
On the way to the TTC we stopped off to refill our Disney mugs as it was so hot .
$17 and you can fill up for 14 days in all Disney hotels, get one!!

This is only my second stay at the Contemporary Resort. The first time, I stayed in a standard room with a MK view in early January when the Christmas decorations were still present, which was great. This time, I stayed over the Labor day week, so no Christmas decor, but Halloween/fall decor was starting up. We opted for club level because there were small children in our party, so the food cost that would be saved by staying in club was well worth the price because let's be honest, Disney food is anything but cost effective. The club level staff is great. Five star customer service just like you would expect from any Disney resort.

The offerings are standard, but very good. The mornings consisted of oatmeal, pastries, hard boiled eggs, cereals, bagels, breads, smoked salmon (with all the accoutrements), as well as coffee service and orange juice. The fridge is constantly filled with Coke products and apple juices for kids. The snack service offered chips, pretzels, yogurt covered pretzels, gummy bears, M&M's, and gold fish. They provide baggies with ties so that you can fill up and take with you to the parks or just to your room and save for later. The evening service provides a few hot apps and cold apps to choose from. There were chicken tenders, seared tuna, cold noodle salad, rolls, bread w/PB&J to name a few. Desserts consisted of macarons, cookies kept under a heat lamp (so they are nice and warm - these were by far our favorite dessert!), and three other sweets (such as a tart, cheesecake, mousse) along with alcoholic and cordial selections.

The best thing about the club level has to be the fireworks view from the club balcony. They play the music that you would hear if you were actually at the Magic Kingdom, so you feel like you are there without fighting the crowds. Another guest told me that even though you can see the fireworks from the Polynesian and Grand Floridian, they do not compare to the Contemporary. Simply because the Contemporary Resort gives you the height that the other hotels just cannot provide.

The only negative that I can think of is the noise level. Since the atrium is completely open and all rooms are exposed, you get a constant flow of noise activity from early in the morning to late at night. So if you are wanting to sleep in or go to sleep early, this is probably not the best hotel for you.

This was our eight trip to Disney and our first stay at the contemporary resort. In the past we have stayed in the Port Orleans French Quarter and in the Animal Kingdom Lodge, both of which are wonderful in their own way. For this vacation we chose to try the Contemporary and it was another magical experience. Overall we gave the resort 5 stars and will consider it on our next trip.
All Disney Hotels have a theme and the Contemporary is themed as the bustling big city hotel. It has shops and restaurants on the main level along and a subway (monorail) stop. The hotel consists of a central tower, the “Bay Lake Tower” is for Vacation Club Members” and, the “Garden Wing” are a series of 3 story buildings connected to the main tower by a covered outdoor walkway.
The central tower contains the monorail stop, the convention center, the restaurants, and shops. There is also an observation deck to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks.
We stayed in the Garden Wing. Our room was only a short walk to the hotel, however, rooms which are at the very far end of the Garden Wing can be a long walk to the central tower. Considering all of the walking and standing of a Disney trip a long walk to and from the tower is not a good thing. In my opinion this is the only negative of the Garden wind. The advantages to the Garden Wing are that it is less expensive than the main tower, but you still get the amenities of the staying at the Contemporary resort.
Our room was a king room. The room looks just like the pictures on the website, which is modern elegant. We found the Garden wing to be quiet, but occasionally you could hear a family in the hallway going back and forth to the main building, considering that we were at the end of the hall it was still much less active than one would expect.. The room was a little dark, meaning that a light in the center would have been nice, we just turned on the reading lights over the bed. Having two sinks in the bathroom was a big convenience and helped us prepare in the morning. There was a nightstand on one side of the bed with extra outlets and USB ports but none on the other side. There was a shelf which formed a desk which had extra outlets and a very comfortable sofa.
Now about the resort:
The walk to and from the Magic Kingdom is pretty quick meaning that you don’t have to take the monorail. In particular, at park close, if there is a line for the monorail it’s probably easiest to walk back. The monorail is the only way to get to and from Epcot, but you have to transfer at the Transportation and Ticket Center. The two nights we visited Epcot we had late dining reservations and caught the monorail well after the closing rush, point being we’re not sure how long the wait for the monorail would be if you left Epcot immediately after Illuminations.
Transportation to Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, the Water Parks and Disney Springs is by bus.
Some of the best amenities of the hotel are the on site dining. The central concourse contains two of the restaurants, the shops and the monorail. We found it to be active and a little noisy but I think that is what Disney is going for. Contempo Café is the onsite counter service restaurant, here you can get Mickey Waffles for breakfast and all sorts of entrées for lunch or dinner. There is also; Chef Mickey’s which has character dining; the California Grill is supposed to be the best restaurant in all of Disney; and “The Wave”. If you want to try the California grill be sure to make reservations as early as possible. We’re going to try the California Gill on our next trip. If you dine at California Grill then then you can watch the fireworks from the top of the tower.
If you don’t Dine at the California Grill there is a fireworks observation deck on the 3rd floor (by the shops). After 5 days in the parks we were exhausted and dined at the Wave (which was wonderful) and then watched the fireworks from the 3rd floor observation deck.
The service was Disney excellent, staff are always looking to help and give the best possible answers. Its what you expect from Disney. One particular interaction which stands out is a chat with a manager about saving our magic bands for our next trip.
Overall staying in the Contemporary resort was a wonderful experience and really enhanced our trip. We definitely recommend the contemporary to anyone staying at Disney.

The contemporary resort I've stayed at before -it's very clean, service is top-notch. Overall was a very enjoyable experience. The food at the contemporary restaurants could use a bit of improvement but other than that everything was great. we went to the wave lounge and had an enjoyable experience at the bar for cocktails were great! The two gift shops at this resort are my absolute favorite out of all the big resorts.
