After reading some of the reviews, I was a little skeptical of staying here. We received a great rate from a private owner, and I feel the resort was awesome. Our unit was spotless. The elevator/garage system could be seen as tricky, but after maneuvering it once, it's not at all difficult. Location was great, away from alot of the busier sections, yet near Pier Park. We saw dolphins playing in the gulf from our balcony. The beach itself was immaculate. I can't see how anyone could not have a great time here!!

rented a condo which sleep 8 but only had glassware for 4. I have never rented a condo so poorly equiped. It had very nice appliances and tv's but only had the bear bones as far as dishes. No bakeware, no measuring cups, no drink pitcher, one skillette and one pan. impossible to cook. woke up to smoke alarms twice. Rental agency told us to take batteries out. 2 of the 4 elevators at our end of the bld were broke all week. To get from garage to condo you had to take 3 different elevators unless you were lucky enought to park on third floor of the garage then only 2 elevators. very poor design as far as the elevator. Room itself was nice. Living room/dining room was especially small. No way 8 people would fit comfortably. Master bedroom had a great view. Loved the bay window. Would have preferred blinds on the patio door in bedroom. everyone on patio could see directly into bedroom. Could be very embarrasing. When we arrived condo tile was sandy & sticky.
Customer service was awful. everyone we asked for help was unable to help just got the run around. Awful smell in hall from elevator to beach all week long.

We arrived at Emerald Beach Resort on a Saturday. We had to stand in a long line of extremely irritated guests for about 45 mintues. I rented from an owner but I still had to check in. We heard horror stories while in line - mold and dirty rooms mostly. One poor guy had been there waiting for 4 hours for his room and then when he got his key card, the room had not been cleaned. They sent him to another resort. Luckily, our room was very clean and nice. The layout of the resort was confusing and inconvenient. The sky bar is nice but is closed Sun-Wed. Ridiculous! The kids pool across the road is great for toddlers. I would probably not stay here again.

With any place you visit, there will always be good reviews and bad reviews. I read all the reviews I could find on the Emerald Beach Resort, and seemed satisfied that this was the place for us. The only inconvenience was that with a 4pm check-in, our room was not ready until close to 5pm, but when we finally got in our room, we were very surprised. The rooms were very tastefully furnished and color coordinated, the flat screen (plasma , I believe) t.v.'s were great for entertaining the kids, the view from the balcony was breathtaking, even from the 18th floor. The best part of the resort were the pools, 2 heated ones and one zero entry kiddie pool. The kids wanted to go to every day. We had originally planned on going to the local water park, but we knew we would be limited to what we could do with 2 small children, so we saved our money and stayed at the pool. There is ample parking across the street in the parking garage and they have a skywalk to cross over to the resort side, sometimes the elevators seemed to take a while, but what can you expect with 25 floors. Overall, I would definetely stay there again.

When we checked in our room was not ready for 2 hours, which was about 6:00 p.m. After a long drive, this was unacceptable to us, since we are Wyndham owners. Room and accomdations were beautiful. It is a hassel to get to and from vehicle and room, a long walk, and confusing.
