This resort is across the street from Pier Park and next to the pier. It was so nice. The staff was very friendly. I noticed the staff is constantly cleaning the property to keep it nice. There are two long pools in front of the beach. They were very nice and clean. Our room was super nice and clean. It was decorated in bright colors. I can not wait to go back! We will definately be staying here again!

This was a family vacation that we took with friends in July. The Calypso was a great condo to stay at locationally speaking. This is the closest place to Pier Park that you could possibly stay--we were able to walk there in the evenings. We reserved our condo with Rachel who is just a pleasure to work with. She was very informative about local places nearby. We found her thru www.vrbo.com. Our condo came with free parking. We were on the 14th floor and the elevators were working and were speedy! We had a great view, the place was exceptionally clean, a real home away from home. She even had beach toys available. The pools were clean and plenty big as there were two pools! The picture does not do them justice! The tiki bar between the pools was not always open like we had thought it would be. The unit also had a washer/dryer so you aren't overloaded with laundry when you return home. The sea weed was the only negative thing--for some reason it was bad this time. Lot of activities nearby. Fishing from the pier. Quiet in the mornings, a real treat to sit on the balcony and have breakfast. We will definitely stay here again!

The Calypso is across the street (diagonal) to Pier Park, you can walk to all the restaurants and shopping, walk to the pier, all the rooms are Gulf Front (not side or angle views). The Calypso has 2 large pools and a Tiki Bar (most others only have 1 pool). With our rental we received 2 beach chairs and an umberella daily, unlimited movie rentals in the lobby, parking is covered in the garage across the street with a covered pedway. The only change I would make is to add 2 hottubs, keep the bar open later. Perfect for families, quiet end of the beach but still active at Pier Park if you want it.

We rented through VRBO 91722. The resort was very nice and the security guards were very helpful and pleasant. We enjoyed our stay and will return! My only complaint was that the bar was not open very often. But that saved me money!! We could have used a few more towels for showering. Overall the unit was very nice and clean.

I will begin by saying this was not a horrible place to stay, you just have to look at the particular unit you are renting as each one is very different. I say this because the unit we stayed in 1803 was in need of a good thourough cleaning and update. I would not stay here again, at least not in this particular unit. I understand normal wear and tear but this unit was filthy! We had to spend the first two hours cleaning, washing dishes and bed linens just to stay here. This was a girls trip of myself, my mother and two daughters. A quick last getaway before summer is over. The Calypso itself was nice as far as amenities go with the pools but my issues were the lack of pool chairs for such a large complex, lack of luggage carts to unload and load luggage (you actually have to put your name on a list and wait for one to become available), no wireless in the units, you have to go to the lobby, and lastly the lack of elevators. There are only 6 elevators for this entire huge complex. I think the Aqua or Wyndam would be better choices after looking at them while we were there.

Room Tip: Review the pictures of the actual unit you are renting as each is in different state of decor and cleanliness.
