I was advised to drive the forty minutes from gulf shores to dive here cause the water was clearer. It was great! We dove the windy and saw a GIANT grouper. He was so tame and let you get pics. Great dive. in August was 40 feet. The crew was friendly and helpfully. I would definitely recommend them.

The weather plays an important role in whether you go diving or not and what site that is accessible the day you planned your dive trip. Captain Douglas is really great at communicating these changes of plan so you can adjust your day accordingly. Our dive trip was scheduled on a Wednesday but we had to wait until Thursday because of some really bad weather. It was well worth the wait... The hour and a half boat trip to the USS Oriskany allowed time to listen to this amazing young woman named Nine. She was very knowledgable of the wreck and took time to explain our dive plan in detail for the two tank dive. This is a deep dive but if you listen to Nine you won't have any problem and really enjoy the dive. The decent to the wreck was textbook but then Nine went to the business of showing us around the wreck. For sport diving you can only go to a max depth of 130 ft. There is plenty to see and explore from 85 ft all the way down to 128 ft. The visibility was really great as you approached the wreck. If you enjoy see lots of wildlife that include everything from barracuda to octopus to humongous amber jack..then this is the type of dive you want to add to your list of cool places to check out. I can't wait to dive with Capt. Doug and Nine again!

We had planned to dive several days but the weather didn't agree. Captain Douglas let us know the seas weren't going to get better and would go if we wanted to the "O". That showed us he had our best interest first and wanted us to know what was ahead. The First Mate each day did a great job and helped us with anything we asked. I have been diving for 7 years and would rate H2O as a first class operation. If you want local reefs / wrecks or out to the "Mighty O" then give H2O a call. We plan to return to Pansacola and will be calling them.

I dove with H2O Below for my first time down to the USS Oriskany. It was a top notch operation. They provided me with 28% Nitrox tanks and 2 dive masters for the SCUBA divers. The boat is a very good boat with and low and easy giant stride entry. The exit is a ladder. The best thing is the travel line system they have. It makes descending and ascending the wreck easy. Plus it makes the safety stop easy also. We had strong currents, but the crew gave good dive briefings and planning. We all stayed together, but if you have ample experience, you can swim around on your own.

Bill Parsons and I scored our first ever Lionfish out with Captain Douglas Hammock. He was kind and took two rookies out hunting for the Pensacola tournament in May of 2016. We went on to gather 720 this year so far on a variety of dive boats but I want to tell you ... professional ... knows his stuff ... has great DM's and wants you to come back intact is his mantra. If a venomous Lionfish gets you ... well ... that is your problem ... bring heatpacks! He can't control everything even though he would like to for your benefit. Dive H20 ... you can't go wrong!
