The Grand Hotel appears to cater and honor the military. The historic bar was lined with pictures. The bartender was very congenial on a busy night and seemed to know the patrons.
Our room was spacious and clean. The nights we stayed, there did not appear to have many people staying there. It was nice and quiet. It is right across the street from the convention center. There was nothing going on there those days.
We love to walk, so we walked several blocks to the old city center. There was nothing close by the hotel.
We ate breakfast both mornings and it was good with only two tables occupied.
Overall, it is was fine for us in our upper sixties. Not much action for younger couples. My husband was in the Navy and he loved the library and memorabilia.More
