Our group of six family and friends enjoyed an excellent and fun dinner last night (Saturday) at Gaufre's and Goods in St Augustine. We have been there more than once before and suggested it to our family and friends that were visiting from out of town. It is located a short walk from the park at the west end of the Bridge of Lions. Dinner began with a nice selection of Polish beers and appetizers (Grape Leaves Platter and a platter including pita and different tapenades). The main courses included Cold Beet Soup (a must have!), Yemista (Greek stuffed peppers - delicious!), Pyzy (Polish stuffed potato dumplings - yum!), Pierogi (Polish stuffed dumplings - a traditional dish!), and Briam (Greek mixed vegetables - a delicious virtuous entree!). Greek coffee and expresso were a perfect finish to a perfect meal! The staff was great - quick and efficient. Last, but surely not least, Stephan the local "Cello Man" serenaded us from just outside the door along the alley! His soulful cello playing was ideal! Let me also add, that I have no financial or personal connection to this restaurant - just a desire to encourage others to give it a try - you will not be disappointed!
