Sunken Gardens is a nice place to enjoy an afternoon in St. Petersburg. We walked around the shaded trails enjoying the flowers and foliage. The price was about $10 per adult which is a little high. We stilled enjoyed it though!

It doesn't seem promising when you drive into a mall-type parking lot. But this is a wonderful garden, with a path to follow for about an hour, or more if you take it slowly. Some exotic caged birds and a coy pond along the way. Very close to downtown St Pete too.

It was amazing! They have different exhibits week to week. Grounds were maintained very nicely. There’s a coupon in the st.pete travelers guide/ map for buy one get one which they also have at their ticket desk. Well worth it!

Their is nothing "disneyfied" about this city owned garden except the forced march through the gift shop to exit. The civic pride in it's history is alive and well in St. Petersburg, one reason we have chosen to become homeowners. While there is nothing revolutionary about the plants or their installations, their size and age are comforting in a place where so much is new. Historically, "Sunken Gardens" was a bit more like "South of the Border" than Sarasota's Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, but at $10 a ticket, it's well worth a visit!

We were here in March, so the plants and flowers were lush. Neat garden with FL history, definitely recommend stopping by.
