We stayed in the motorcourt over a long weekend and found it more than adequate for us.

The good:

Location! The motorcourt is located just off of the town center, but is secluded enough to feel private. The bed was comfortable ( though my husband did have to climb over me to get out of bed). The price was also outstanding for the location. The room has daily maid service, which is nice.

The bad:

Luckily it wasn't too hot during our visit, because I don't think the ac could have kept up. The highs were around 90 and our room never got quite as cool as we wanted. Had it been 95 we probably would have been miserable. I will probably not stay here in the summer again because of this.

The shower was a bit too small, but was clean and well furnished with plush linens.

We missed having a kitchen to fix a few simple meals, which we are used to having at the beach, but it was tolerable for four days. There are plenty of wonderful restaurants around.

All in all, I would say the motorcourt lodgings are a very good value.

We love Seaside, having spent five nights there in May, and decided to stop by one night on our way to a Thanksgiving in Alabama. Because there were only two of us, we booked the Motorcourt, which was also the least expensive place at 220.00 a night.

It was infuriating. The bed, a queensize, is built into it's frame SIDEWAYS, so there is no way to use the reading lamps which are attached to the wall along the SIDE of the bed. It is impossible to get out of bed without crawling over the person sleeping on the outside, and the bed can't be moved because it has a headboard that goes along the side. Insane.

The television and dvd player, which can only be viewed from the bed and not the two chairs that are in the entry hall, are on a shelf that sticks out next to the bed, creating a hazard if you have to get up in the middle of the night and an incovenience during the day. There were no useable bed tables.

The room with the toilet and shower have a light under which one could perform brain surgery, and a very loud fan that is connected to the light, which is most unpleasant.

There were two hangers in the closet.

The entire unit also had an odd smell.

We were so turned off by what we consider a ripoff, that we are loathe to return to Seaside with a group of friends who come every year for a week. We normally rent three houses. If it hadn't been so late when we checked in, we would have left and driven to another town to find a place to stay. We had just come from New Orleans where we had a lovely suite at the Hotel Provincal for half the price of this goofy room.

My husband and I just returned from two nights at the Motorcourt in Seaside. We were in Bungalow #8 and we loved it. #8 and #9 share a screened in front porch, which none of the other rooms seemed to have.

The room was small, but clean, and the location perfect, right in the middle of downtown Seaside. The room had a queen sized bed, mini fridge/freezer, microwave, iron/small ironing board, and coffee maker. Seaside has three internet hotspots, a coffee shop, the bookstore, and one other. The motorcourt was right across the street from the coffee shop and we were able to pick up their wireless signal from the room which was nice.

I would definitely stay here again on another visit to Seaside!

Seaside is a wonderful getaway for couples or families. It's close enough to Destin where there is alot to do, yet far enough away that you can relax. Once we parked our car in Seaside, we actually didn't move it for the rest of the trip. We enjoyed the fact that it is small enough that you can walk or ride a bike all around Seaside. The motorcourt is the least expensive way that we've found to stay in Seaside. The rooms are not large, and certainly nothing fancy, but they were comfortable.
The positives: Located right across the street from the beach, restaurants, and shops. Better prices than a cottage if you only have 2 people and not a big family. Has a fridge, microwave, flat screen tv, and dvd player.
The negatives: We missed having a porch to sit on (as the cottages have), and having a full kitchen to cook our own meals.
Overall, we loved Seaside, and we will definitely be back. And we wouldn't hesitate to stay in the motorcourt again either.
