We had an all day business function here and I was impressed by the flexibility of the place as they setup for each different event and meal. Lunch was a cold cut buffet and dinner was a very small steak and a piece of chicken with some very crispy green beans. Entirely decent and probably above average for a group almost 100 in size, but nothing extraordinary.

Enjoyed the grilled grouper and a Bloody Mary. We had a table overlooking the bay. The wait staff was attentive. Great place for a family meal.

I'm up here in Tampa with a friend who's having surgery and we stumbled on to the Rusty Pelican. We walked in and it's a very nice atmosphere going in. It seemed pretty quiet but they told us they were too busy (7:45pm on a Tuesday night). We walked out the door and used trip advisor to "find a table" and instantly we got an 8:00pm reservation! It was kind of funny bit irritating at the same time. Anyway, we ordered a drink and appetizers and it took for ever, thank goodness the waiter was very nice about it. He said there was an event going on so... Finally got drinks and appetizers then waiting on our meal (which didn't come until 9:00! The good thing was the waiter (Matthew) was very attentive to us and the manager brought us some stone crabs (I've never had) which were amazing! The swordfish was delicious as well as everything else so that made up for the extremely long wait.

Our food was very good and the view is wonderful. Sunset looking one direction and Tampa skyline all lit up at night is spectacular. Not a huge menu but we each had something different and enjoyed.
