Owner description: As a part of the FKWBC, the Laura Quinn Wild Bird Sanctuary is home to over one hundred non-releasable, permanent bird residents as well as wild birds including hawks, owls, vultures, pelicans, terns, gulls, herons, spoonbills, and many more. Visitors are invited to learn about our birds and the fragile ecosystems of the Florida Keys. The Sanctuary is open to the public from sun-rise to sun-set. Admission is free, but donations to help the FKWBC to continue to fulfill our mission are gladly accepted. The Florida Keys Wild Bird Center's mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and release native and migratory wild birds that have been harmed or displaced, to provide or locate a humane shelter for those birds that cannot be released, and to educate the public toward the importance of coexistence with all wild bird species. The Florida Keys Wild Bird Center is a 501(C)(3) Charitable Organization.

It's nice to see the work that the Center is doing. Great unique location in the mangrove setting. The staff was helpful in answering questions I had.

Not a great fan of zoos, etc, but you certainly can see the value of places like this. Some of the birds are clearly damaged and would not survive outside in the wild. They are doing great work, and deserve lots of praise and support!

Being bird parents, we knew we wanted to stop here on our way back from Key West. What a great place. There are nice boardwalk paths that take you around enclosures that house birds that were nursed back to health, but not able to be returned to the wild. We followed the trail that took us close to the water and made our way back. There is a donation box out front, but no one pressures you to donate. Great stop, you get to see some birds like owls up close, where you probably wouldn't be able to any other way..
