We picked Holiday Inn Winter Haven since it is 3 miles from Legoland and they give you a parking voucher for each day worth $17. Our children were staying at Legoland Hotel which was much more expensive. The first time the front desk stuff helped us out was when we were driving to Winter Haven. There was a fire on Route 60. The road was closed and we had to turn around. We called the hotel to request a late check-in and they gave us excellent directions to get to the hotel. Next on the day we were leaving, the staff checked with the police to see if the road was open. It was not. Even though we had checked out they told us to call later in the day when we were leaving Legoland and they would again check with the police for us. BTW late in the afternoon the road was open. the room was clean and comfortable and up to Holiday Inn standards. The dining room staff was also helpful. At Holiday Inn Express they have hard boiled eggs on the buffet. There were none here since there was a full restaurant. When I asked the director of the kitchen, she told me should would make some for my husband and me for the next mornings. The day day there were four warm perfectly cooked shelled eggs waiting for us. The staff went way beyond what would have been expected. We will return.

The hotel was very close to legoland. We stayed for 2 nights. There is a restaurant in the hotel which is good if you don't want to leave the hotel. Breakfast is not included, but we included it in our package.
It was your basic buffet, no big deal.

We ordered dinner from the hotel restaurant both nights, and it was just ok. Not worth it, you are better off going to the restaurants near by.

The worse part of our stay was the AC. It was not only loud but we had to put the temperature to 65 to feel the cold. The AC waits till the room is warm and then turns back on. It does not keep a steady temperature. I complained to the front desk and they said that is how the AC's are in the hotel. It was umcomfortable.

There was cereal under the bed when we arrived (not ours). Which means the house keeping was not very well done.

On a positive note, I had some special requests to the front desk prior to my check in, which were accommodated. O appreciated that. The walls are thin, but nothing too crazy.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry we fell short for your stay. I am also very sorry that whoever at my front desk told you that is just how the AC works, because that is not at all the way they work. I hate that in your room you found cereal under your bed. Normally our housekeeping is better than that and I pride myself in how well they take care of the hotel. If you would like to talk further, please feel free to call me. my number is 863-292-2100 and my name is Brenda Willard.

I travel with a cooler due to restricted dietary needs. If I need to use the microwave you have to go ACROSS the street to the Hampton and use theirs! Appalled!!!! This should be a home away from home! I darn sure don't go to a neighbors house to use the microwave!

Good Morning,
Thank you for your review. I am very sorry about the microwave. I am a full service hotel which means I have a restaurant and lounge on property. which is why we can't have a microwave in our lobby. When built we were not built it was not built with each to have the necessary wattage or ventilation. I am very sorry for your inconvenience. I do hope you will come back and visit.

This Holiday Inn that is privately owned does not live up to the Holiday Inn Brand. Our check inn clerk did not greet us as platinum elite members nor were we offered the room we had originally reserved. The hotel amenities are sparse and hotel is very limited in its services. We had to go to another hotel to use a microwave because the owner would NOT allow any microwaves in his hotel for guests!!! I never heard of anything like this before. I definitely would not return to this hotel

Room tip: don't bother

Stayed two nights for business. Warm greeting and prompt service. I could hear the cell phone text notification in the adjacent room. Also could hear people walking in the room above me. Small bathrooms - you can't stand in front of the sink without bumping into the toilet. The bathroom door needs to be closed to open the mail room door. OK for one guest. Room looked clean but dimly lit. The bed was very uncomfortable and AC was very loud. Breakfast options (skip the eggs) and bar service in the lobby is nice to have. Parking is a little challenging sharing a lot with another hotel and 2 restaurants. Lots of food options in walking distance if you like chains. Lots of dogs around so pet friendly. A nice average IHG.
