Kids will definitely enjoy this hotel with all the fun activities and Legos galore. And the distance to the park can't be beat! However I would have expected the rooms to be better maintained for the $400+ per night price. We stayed in a pirate-themed room which wasn't properly dusted and the carpet was dirty in some areas. The desk door hiding the fridge kept coming off in our hands, despite requesting it to be fixed (potential safety hazard). The buffet does offer lots of kid-friendly food options but was definitely mediocre at best. The hotel staff seemed to be forcing smiles. No one seemed in a hurry to clear the dirty dishes from the tables in the bar area and there was constantly food all over the floor. Overall kids will love this hotel, but I would have expected greater attention to detail and better service that goes beyond just the kids' activities for the luxury price tag.
As for LEGOLAND, the park definitely needs to work on friendlier, more enthusiastic staff and cleaner restaurants. The Fried Chicken restaurant was appallingly dirty the day we were there, with food all over the floor and tables, and no one in sight to clean anything up. Lines would also move much faster if ride staff focused more on their job and less on chatting with each other.

At first I thought this place was way over priced. Then I stayed there. It was worth every penny. From the lego pits to build, lego characters, lego castle, lego pirate ship, pool with floating lego bricks, disco elevator, spacious lego themed rooms with a treasure, early entrance to the park, and included breakfast each morning, you can't go wrong! We had a fabulous stay and really enjoyed Legoland as well!

We had been to the Valspar Championship and we thought that we would do something where the kids could have a great time. From the moment we walked in, the first comment was, "awesome", until we left the kids were fascinated by all things Lego. The hotel personnel from the reception desk on were very friendly and very helpful to the kids. We thought that the lobby was great with the Lego play pits and, yes, with the nearby bar from where you could watch the kids. When we made it to the room, we were all awed by the thought that went in to the planning of them. With the separate area for the kids with the trundle and bunk beds, as well as the kids only TV with one of the channels being a looped "The Lego Batman Movie", to the treasure chest that housed a special gift for each of the kids, everything was really nice. The park is very close (like in feet) to the front of the hotel, so after the included buffet breakfast, it was nice to get down in to the park a half an hour before the park opened to the public.

bunk bed is nice touch for large families. But very limited space in main part of room. Kids get their own TV. Has trundle bed so can sleep 3. Comparable to if not better than Disney room. Views of front entrance not very pleasant. Ask for pool or park resort view is better. Breakfast is good. There is also onsite kid activies which is nice so you can continue the fun after the park is closed. Buffet dinner is so so but there are number nearby restaurants within 10 mins. Wait staff and check in staff very pleasant and good. This tends to be pricey but is prob the best hotel in the area and convenient to walk to resort in few mins along with early entry at 9:30am

Perfect hotel for kids. From the shows in the lobby and lego decorations everywhere to the incredibly accomodating staff, this place was outstanding in every way. Even with the big price increase during the peak seasons, it is still worth every penny. I can't say enough good things about it. Amazing.
