Owner description: The National Infantry Museum emphasizes the values that define the Infantryman, as well as the nation he protects: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. It preserves and displays one of the greatest collections of military artifacts in the world, but it is a museum of people, not things. As a visitor, you will meet the Infantryman face to face and join him on his journey. You will come to understand why an Infantryman does what he does, why he puts himself in harm’s way in defense of an idea and you will leave transformed, just as the Infantry transforms the man into the Soldier. The 190,000-square-foot museum opened in June 2009 on a 200-acre tract of hardwoods and pines just outside the gates of the Fort Benning Maneuver Center of Excellence.

This was a well laid out museum. Lots of nice things to see and very educational. Friendly staff. They could ease up on the "recommendation" of donations though. I donated and would have anyway but it was repetitive. The security seems a little over the top also. Might as well be at an airport with the wand and searching they do.

Thank John K

This is an excellent museum. Every American should walk through this whether they have military ties or not. An interactive museum that highlights all of the wars. A beautiful facility and one of the best if not the best museums in the United States. Pay them a visit it is well worth your time. God bless America!

This is a great place to visit while in town. There is a lot of history inside and outside. The restaurant upside is a great place to eat. Make sure not to bring big bags or diaper bags.

Stop here if you are a military fan. This museum is filed with history and snags your attention. After service to our country for 24 years this museum brought back fond memories and family history.

Obviously, there is NOTHING else to do in Columbus, but this is indeed worth the trip. Don't let the first floor fool you in thinking that the museum is over - that's just the overview; a tasting. The truly remarkable history is downstairs.
