The food is all a five star! You will not be disappointed. You have to expect that it’s not five star service because, it is very crowded. When there’s great food, there are a lot of people. Servers are very polite and respectful but, slammed. It’s worth the trip!!!

We came here to celebrate my bachelorette party and it was absolutely amazing. First, our server Renee was absolutely awesome, we loved her! She was personable, quick, and made our experience so special. The view of the river was so relaxing, it was nice watching the ducks and geese float by. Lastly, the food was SO TASTY. We loved everything about this place, and we will definitely be coming back!

We drove over from Blue Ridge Ga to enjoy a dinner at this place on the river. It was closed that particular day. We were traveling and we would be going past there on our way back home. We decided to stop and have a early lunch. It was about five minutes from their opening time. We wanted to eat on the outside patio overlooking the river. There was not one other person there yet. The patio was dog friendly and we had our very small Yorkie with us that stayed in a very small crate whenever we are dining. The waitress walked us over to a two person table, the only one in the direct sunlight! We asked if we could have one of the other tables that was more shaded, not only for us but for our small dog being in the crate. Sitting in the hot sun would have been very cruel! Remember, there was noone else there but us and, there must have been fifty tables. Since we were the first ones there, Im sure we would have been done eating and out of there before crowds moved in. The waitress told us there were no exceptions and if we didnt want the sun table she couldnt help us! So, of course we left. I cannot believe any place of business would have been so rude and un-obliging. We will always pass by this place in the future and I hope their business gets what they deserve...no business! I doubt if this is the practice of McCaysville businesses in general. Everyone else in this town seem so nice and family like, and happy to see visitors. Shame on you Burra Burra! You need to take lessons from your town fathers!

Recommended by others but not recommended by me.

A few positives :
Beautiful setting on the river.
Not far from the train station- we were there for a short layover, 2 hours and then back on the train!
We were able to get reservations online- but this is deceiving because there was still a line to check in- but this did go fairly fast.
Menu was broad and looked good even for our picky kiddos.
Lastly, we were seated fairly fast and drink order was taken promptly and waitress frequently checked/ refilled drinks.

Negatives:
Grossly understaffed- obviously this looks like a problem in the kitchen but there was just not enough wait staff to care for everyone getting seated at the same time.
We waited nearly 30 mns for appetizer
We then waited 1 hour for our meals. Unfortunately not enough time to even enjoy our meal- had to be boxed up and taken with us.
Shrimp po boy had 6 shrimp on it and cost $15!
Roast beef sandwich was good but nothing special.

We feel that because this is such a tourist site - there should be much more preparation for all the tourists coming in for lunch.
Sadly, our experience at this restaurant is now our experience of Macaysville - bc we didn’t get to see any other parts of the town.

Suggestion for those riding the train - the layover is too short. I would recommend packing a lunch and having a picnic or bringing a heavy snack so you can enjoy the short time you have in the city.
