The reviews are right. It was very noisy and crowded at Friday Happy Hour (much less crowded earlier in the week). Oysters are $12 dozen at Happy Hour. My wine was $4 and husband's drink $8. Ashley helped us and she was a BIG improvement over wait staff of the past. Super attentive and nice.

We have been coming to St Simons for the month of Oct since 2009. We usually eat here here several times during happy hour. Tried tonight during Redfern Village Friday evening sales. Oysters were $1 during happy hour. Ordered a dz and when delivered to table they were accompanied by dried out lemon slices but good sauces. However the oysters were not on ice but sitting in water. There was one bad oyster and I pointed that out to server. He said he would take care of it. Never did.
At same time my wife had the fish and chips which also had a hush puppy. The fish was excellent and the chips were very good. When I ordered the raw oysters I also ordered a oyster poor boy. The fried oysters were good and the toasted bun was nice touch. The dressing for the sandwich was spicy and good. However the sandwich also had not so good French fries and the same dried out lemon slices plus dried up onion slices, lettuce and tomatoes on the side. A very poor rendition of the Poor Boy sandwich.
We will not go back here the remainder of our visit.

We split oysters and crab legs and were so happy with our choices. The crab legs were amazing! They were easy to crack and pull and the flavor was so good. We actually stayed longer and ordered more food and beverage! The atmosphere could be improved, but we usually focus on the food at hand!

My friend and I had a great lunch at Catch 228 and the food was great. I had gumbo and calamari. Both were excellent. Service was good. The restaurant has a huge oyster bar and could be even better. Unfortunately, the music that was played did not enrich the atmosphere. Go for the food, and eat outside if the weather is good, that might be better.

I'm a seafood snob and find that Catch 228 knows how to serve fresh, delicious seafood. We had a group of 8 and all of us enjoyed our meal and had great service. One of our group is gluten free and there are many options for that on the menu as well. Had a great time!
