My large group had great service and loved the ambience. It wasn't too loud and the meals were wonderful. The "winner" entree was the Drunken Angus Filet. The sauce with this also comes with the mushrooms so if you don't want the filet then get the mushrooms. Also, the onion dip appetizer is awesome. My concern is that they do not have a wine cellar so their wines (even Jordan and Stag's Leap) are not at appropriate temperatures.

We've been to The Bistro twice, once as a couple and once in a large group. Both visits were very disappointing.

The Bistro has great potential; excellent location and a great space. Unfortunately, they miss the mark in just about every way possible. The drink menu is good, a few interesting and creative cocktails. The execution is WAY off. Drinks taste watered down and/or too sweet.

The food is mediocre at best. I've tried 4 dishes and none have even remotely impressed me. Steaks not cooked to the temperature we ordered, dry (really really dry) chicken, and bland, boring sides (steamed vegetables and boiled potatoes).

There are a lot of good restaurants in downtown Valdosta...this is not one of them.

Jason was our waiter and he is a lot of fun. Always takes good care of us and keeps us laughing. He is definitely a people person and loves his customers. We always order the Drunken Angus with the Drunken Angus mushrooms and usually garlic mashed potatoes. You can't go wrong with this combination. Oh, we also order the Vidalia Onion Dip with toast as an appetizer. We love this place!
