The jungle is a rough place. Lupa masa presents the jungle as it is, not as a rough approximate with scented soaps and lovely long hot showers followed by a buffet breakfast at 8.
There was a keeled pit viper not thirty meters from my tent, then another not twice that distance. There are tiger leeches all over the place. My clothes smelled of blood and sweat, and I had to wash them in the river. But what a river!
I'm going back in two weeks and I can't wait. For two meals a day, a dry tent, a chance to charge my batteries, and some friendly faces all within this gorgeous environment, Lupa Masa gets my five stars.More
