We have just returned from our 3 week France adventure, and our last night with Martine and Francois was one of the best memories I will cherish. Their home is lovely and our room, Dahlia, was so bright and cheery and a good size for European rooms! We LOVED listening to Francois play the piano. He is a wonderful concert pianist and loves to play for his guests. It was a treat! Be sure to have dinner with Martine and Francois. Martine is an excellent cook and it was well worth it. We shared stories and spoke in both French and English. (They actually speak English well but I needed the practice.) It was so fascinating to learn about their lives and French life, which is really not so different than the challenges and joys in the U.S. Breakfast was delightful. Martine makes her own bread and jams... yummy! La Martiniere is an excellent value and a wonderful experience!

wow wow wow.
Perfectly located to rest following an international flight CDG or as a final staging post. We spent the last three days of our holiday there and used it as a base to go to Paris- 45 mins away. Martine and Francois were most excellent hosts and we enjoyed their friendly welcome and advice both speaking english very well. The traditional style french house is built on 3 floors with wooden flooring and an eliptical staircase. we stayed in the attic with plenty of room for us and our kids next door- looking out of the velux windows we could see the Hotel de Ville, the school and town- There is a large vegetable garden and Martine makes her own jams- Yumm
Breakfast is a well stocked continental affair and the prices are very reasonable- We wont hesitate to go back and see them again when we are in france again.

Room Tip: perfect throughout, quiet, clean, well decorated. comfortable beds

2 hours south of the Channel tunnel, 45 mins from Paris lies this fabulous B&B which offers so much more than an overnight rest spot.
The property is in a small village just off the main motorway and is steeped in history.
We booked the family room which turned out to be the top floor with a double room a twin room and a separate shower room toilet etc.
The hosts Francois and Martine were charming, allowing us to park our luggage filled car inside the walls of their garden for security.
There isn’t much going on in the town so an evening meal is offered as an option. This should not be missed, a genuine French experience.
We sat with Francois and Martine at their table and shared a fabulous meal prepared by Martine. There were 4 courses plus wine, and the food was excellent, great value @ 22 Euros each.
Please do not be put off, I would normally run a mile from this kind of thing, quite enjoying the faceless anonymity of the ‘chain’ hotels, but I wouldn’t have missed this for the world.
We learned more about France, French life and current issues in that couple of hours than in the rest of our 2 week visit to France!
Breakfast was leisurely and also very French with homemade jams etc.
A great start to a great holiday, highly recommended.

We booked this B & B because of the good reviews on T.A. and the location - we were not disapointed. Lovely, lovely, lovely. Travelling with two young children is not easy but our stay at La Martiniere was fantastic. Martine and Francois made us feel very welcome in their home - they were great with the kids, being grandparents themselves. Cooked us lovely French food. We stayed in an ensuite room that had ample space for a mattress on the floor for our 4 year old and our travel cot in the corner for the baby. We stayed one night on the way down to the south of France and one night on the way back. Both times we booked an evening meal, which did not disappoint. Very French cuisine which was lovely including salad and fruit from their own veg plot. We sat with the Ogneirs and other guests and was great to practice French however their English was excellent - just as well! The house is located in a pretty square and is very quiet except for the church bells but they did not bother us - they dont ring overnight. There is a small park in walking distance which was great for our kids after a long journey from the UK. I really can't fault this place at all, and would recommend.

La Martiniere is a wonderful place to stay when you are planning to fly out of CDG airport. I have stayed too many times at faceless hotels at the airport...this chambre d'hotes has character and is run by a warm and friendly couple, Martine and Francois Ognier. Francois is a professional concert pianist and is pleased to share his music with you if you ask! He also is the composer of cabaret music. Staying at La Martiniere turned what could have been a ho-hum overnight at CDG into a very special stay! (The drive to CDG is about 30 minutes and very simple down the A1.) This is my new home when in the northern suburbs of Paris.
