We stayed in the Picasso room which is small, but nice. We didn't use the hot springs tub, but enjoyed the shower. The bed was very comfortable, and there is 24/7 coffee in the lobby (It's weak, but it's there!). Staff was very helpful with local history and restaurant recommendations. A nice overnight on our two week road trip. I'd stay there again.

Room Tip: We stayed on the second floor, but there is no elevator, so stairs might be a consideration for some.

We were booked into the Kahlo room (440). They will tell you it's a "Historical Room" which means the room has not been updated since the 70's. Upon arrival we were informed that the room does not have a Hot Springs Bath. Could have told us that when we booked the room.

The bathroom does not look like the picture online. It's old, the sink does not drain for at least 10 mins after you use it, the bathtub/shower curtain and bathtub appear to be filthy and very old. We were so disgusted that we chose to shower at the Lava Hot Springs Pools locker rooms.

I don't know if it was done on purpose but the window air conditioning system worked great during the day but in the evening when you are trying to sleep it only runs for 10 seconds at a time every 30 mins. to 40 mins. so the room stayed hot all night long. I know the times because I was sweating so bad I couldn't sleep. I even tried different temperatures between 70 to 80 degrees and it didn't change at all. Around 7 AM the air conditioning kicked in for the rest of the day and it stayed cool.

The bed was comfy and the TV work good. That is about the only good thing I can say about this hotel. If you are offered this room DO NOT BOOK IT. I would suggest any other hotel if you have to have this room.

Lava Hot Springs is a small town with lots of history. This hotel was very comfortable and clean and most rooms have a very large soaking tub with water from the mineral hot springs. Our room though not large was adequate and had a king bed, was very clean, and had a microwave and refrigerator. The linens were nice, the place was quiet, there was an outdoor hot tub available as well as a barbecue. You can walk anywhere in town from this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the lobby and ice is available upon request.

Room Tip: There are hotel type rooms and motel type rooms. We enjoyed staying in the hotel.

Our room was exactly what I expected and more. Even though we didn't have the time to get in it, the hot tub on the back porch, just for guests, was a nice addition. The bed was very comfortable and the check-in/check-out process couldn't have been better. The lady at the desk was very pleasant. Nice visit, we'll be back! Thank you!

After a long day of flying into Salt Lake, we decided to stop here for the night on our way to Grand Teton (almost halfway between SLC and Teton south entrance). It is an adorable little town. The hotel was in a great location, and the desk staff was lovely and helpful with suggestions. We stayed in a motel-like room in the court behind the main hotel. The room was a smallish, beds were nice, and the in-wall AC was noisy enough to drown out the outside noises, but not keep us awake. Our bathroom had a toilet and large tub/shower fed by the spring, which was nice, but very tight in there. The sink was outside the bathroom. Since we only stayed overnight, it wasn't a big deal, but had it been a longer stay there was absolutely nowhere to put clothes/suitcases except on the floor alongside the beds. There was what was intended to be a closet, but that was where the fridge/microwave were, and you definitely couldn't hang up any clothing. Although check-out was at 11, we were permitted to leave our car parked in our assigned spot while we explored the town (we only walked around for an hour, but there appeared to be plenty to do there). I only wish there had been an included breakfast, but had we planned ahead, could've made use of the fridge/microwave in the room.

We are happy that you enjoyed your visit! Thanks for the helpful review -- we will definitely look into the closet issue. The microwave & minifridge can go somewhere else in the room. We're on it! Hope to see you again soon. Scott Pearhill, Owner
