So glad we decided to stay at the Silversmith for our weekend getaway. We thought it was very reasonable for the excellent quality accommodations and wonderful service. Great location to park your car for the weekend and walk to everything. Beautiful, comfortable room. We stayed on the third floor and the L train went right by our window but noise was NOT an issue. They must’ve installed soundproof glass. We slept beautifully both nights. Extremely comfortable bed and bedding. Lovely bathroom. Extraordinarily friendly and accommodating staff. Can’t wait to go back!

I love to travel and adore a good hotel. I am a bit of a bed snob and a trifle crotchety in my autumn years. I love the Silversmith. The trains do run outside the hotel; there is a gentle rumble as they sweep through. ( And no, I am not a deaf old bag!) The hotel is close to The Art Institute and The Cloud Gate. The Magnificent Mile is just steps away. A lot of good eateries are within walking distance. I can't stress how convenient the hotel is to the heart of Chicago. The staff is so nice and helpful. And the price is right for my little old lady wallet. I saw lots of hip young things in the lobby, so I dont believe it is just a hotel for seniors. Grab your walkers; clutch your canes and give these sweet people a chance to show you their magnificent hotel.

We stayed at the Silversmith because of it’s location and modest price (for hotels in downtown Chicago). The staff was very friendly and the room spacious and nicely decorated. The biggest advantage of staying here was being within walking distance of popular shopping, dining and theatre places. The disadvantage was it’s proximity to the trains. The elevated train runs above the street, right out the front door of the hotel. That’s not really a complaint on my part - I expect the major cities to be somewhat noisy - just a heads-up for travelers who are light sleepers or bothered by the frequently rumbling as the trains pass.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. We apologize for the noise the trains bring. If you choose to book with us again, please do not hesitate to ask our Front Desk Agents to put a request in for your room to be away from the trains. We hope you will stay with us again.

The Silversmith Hotel in Chicago is a great place to stay. It is close to the theater district and within walking distance to many great restaurants. The bed was soooo comfortable and the pillows were extra fluffy. You have free WiFi too.

My son was married a couple weeks ago and we arranged for family and friends to stay at the Silversmith. My husband and I have stayed here several times in the past and we’re looking forward to sharing our good experience with our family and friends.

The silversmith hotel never disappoints. The rooms are beautiful as is the lobby. It is richly appointed with Swarovski crystals to commemorate the fact that it is in jewelers row.

Valets, bell captain, front desk and housekeeping all work together to make their guests feel special.

We will definitely be back, as will our friends and family.

Thank you Silversmith!!
