The place is a bit of s dive, but was really what I was looking for to get an Italian beef sandwich and I wasn't disappointed. The sandwich was great. I love pizza but couldn't pass up the sandwich. I'm in Deerfield often for business and will definitely go back.

From out of town and looking for something good to eat that was close to my hotel. Little to choose from. Pizza - can't be bad right? Restaurant is older and dismal looking. Stood at counter for several seconds before being greeted - even with staff right there. Several pizzas in 'warmer' - looked as if they had been there for awhile. Flavors not the usual. Chose a calzone instead. Price appropriate for size of calzone with added ingredients. Wasn't impressed - maybe I"m just tired from a long week and different time schedule. On the upside - it was still very warm when I ate it approx. 15 minutes later at the hotel.

The menu is extensive (pasta, sandwiches, chicken, etc.) , but since the name says "pizza," let's concentrate on that. In an attempt to be all things to all people, Marisa's does three kinds of crust: Chicago (thin); New York (regular); and Pan (thick). They also feature a $6.50 daily lunch special (Monday is pizza slice day) and a $9.50 dinner special, plus coupon specials printed in the menu. The White Pizza features three kinds of cheese (ricotta, mozzarella and romano) and the Baked Mostaccioli Pizza is truly carb heaven.
A touch I haven't seen elsewhere is a shaker of granulated garlic along with the usual shakers of red pepper and oregano.
They are located in a small strip mall, so there's plenty of parking.
I wouldn't make a special trip here, but if you're in the area and want a quick lunch or snack, the service is friendly and hey, you can add garlic to anything you order.
