We are regulars and never disappointed , the hot baguette sandwiches are lovely with generous portions . Cheese and onion pie is to die for. Monday night is steak night which is good value , very popular with locals so suggest booking at weekends

This was our club Christmas dinner for 19, My starters were Pate, Large portion of pate topped with clarified butter, lightly toasted warm bread, onion chutney all home made and a side of salad, The pate was a little light in the seasoning but smooth & creamy, the bread was beautiful with the red onion chutney sweet and tangy. My main course was the belly pork three large cubes came with the cracking removed and placed on the side, It was soft, full of flavour the fat was cooked perfectly, it had turned to that gelatinous translusent tissue feeding the lean pork with flavour and moisture, The creamy soft mash and white cabbage beautiful and a ram-akin of steamed carrots, cauliflower florets and sugar snap peas. The cheese board came with a good array of cheeses red and green grapes celery and mixture of biscuits, four bottles of port, blinking good all round meal. The landlady is tops, a really good host, the waiting & bar staff are happy and smiling if a little young and shy, to kept all 19 of us happy and fed on time is no easy task, but every body enjoyed their meal. Just one point the table was split 15 & 4 this will have to be re assist for the next visit, because there will be another.

The food was good but the attitude of the staff was very poor, will definitely not return . We ordered the food a couple of days before.Someone went to the toilet whilst they were bringing the food out & asked if someone had ordered a certain item, we didn’t know, but their attitude when they returned was the worst I have ever experienced.
