Checked out Zanies in St. Charles and was really pleased with the entire evening. We are older than... read more
We enjoyed our Friday night out with family. $20 cover/ticket and two drink minimum. Easy to get free tix for another show by sending a text to Zanies. We've been before as a fundraiser: Zanies is generous with their ticket giveaways---making money on drinks and snacks. Clean, but not posh. Stay away from front row unless you want attention during the show. Free parking.
Went the weekend of August 12th. Great show, waitresses very attentive. Good food, good drinks. Not a bad seat in the house. Great way to spend a Friday night.
I laughed more at dinner with my friends than at the club. The first two entertainers were okay. The headliners mostly sang through their act. Sound was bad so really couldn't hear the words to any of the songs. They weren't very funny. It was so hot in the club. Bathrooms were shared with wedding in the ball room. Maybe it was just the evening's performers. I live in the city (Chicago). I only went out to this location because of friends. I wouldn't do it again.
We went to see Pat Tomasulo. The show was great and we would go again. Snack choice very limited and drink prices are high. But for a $20.00 entrance fee worth it joverall.
We really liked the comedians we saw! We laughed through out the show. I would believe most shows are good if you come to laugh!
Zanies itself is interesting, didn't feel too classy but was adequate. Didn't offer much food choices so don't go there hungry, but liquor flowed well!
Service was also good.
First comedian was hilarious. Everything flowed and was good general comedy. At some points, thought I would never stop laughing. Second guy was less funny. Had some good parts but overall not the charisma the first guy had. The headliner Jordan Klepper was just not funny. He was mostly geared toward social topics but obviously was not the right crowd for those jokes. Many very awkward times where the crowd was silent after a punchline. Some people might enjoy that comedy but we did not. Really wish the order had been reversed. Could have listened to the first comedian all night. Even saw some patrons get so irritated they left the show early. Service was very good all night.
