We've gone to J Gumbos several times, and I always enjoy going there. You can sit and eat, take it to go, or eat at the bar. If you haven't been they allow you to sample to find something that you like. I've heard from friends who frequent New Orleans and they've mentioned that this place isn't "true" authentic food, but we find it consistent and delicious every time we go.

Been here twice, both times it was good. Most of my family like their meals too. It was good that they had some outdoor seating on the sidewalk because we had our dog with us.

Pretty good.... In my opinion, J. Gumbo's is not truly authentic Cajun cuisine. It is, however, very tasty, especially their ratatouille. That is a SUPERB choice for vegetarians (like me!) or anyone wanting to have a large bowl of food, but also following a diet.
They have sizable portions, they're a little pricey, but it's overall tasty and the staff is helpful and friendly.
Most notably, though, is the owner. His charisma practically runs the place all on its own!

Love it, has a bar inside restaurant makes you feel like you are in Louisiana. Fast, friendly service and smiles to go around. Makes you want to come back again and again. From hot and spicy to mild, with a sample of your choice before you buy, a great deal.

This restaurant offers a very generic and bland version of Cajun food. There are almost no choices for vegetarians. But the bar looks awesome. It's a fun place to hang out, but don't expect authentic Louisiana cuisine
