We used to really like this place but very disappointed last night. I had a goat's cheese tart which was not nice and came with completely tasteless veg - carrots and peas. As they have a variety of veg with the carvery you'd think they'd provide more interesting veg. My partner had the carvery which wasn't very hot. The starter was nice and the service generally good, although it took a while to clear out dirty plates. We were a large party and this is ideal for large groups so hope this was a blip.

We stopped here by chance as we had been to Cheltenham races and we had the carvery which was excellent the plate was covered in the meat and the choice of vegetables were wonderful and cooked to perfection. We went again the next day and had the normal menu which was brilliant for choice and value. We all very much enjoyed the meals there and the staff were exceptional.

We had been our for the day and on our way back home when we stumbled across this pub/restaurant by accident, and what a find it was!!
We each had a two course meal for £11.95 but I must admit we were full up following the main meal! I had an 8 oz rump steak and my husband had the gammon. The meat was cooked as we had asked and their three times cooked chips were fantastic along with the battered onion rings. It was definitely an excellent plate full of good, very hot food; exactly as I like it!
I ordered a Baileys creme brûlée (without the brûlée as I hate the topping but love the cream) and it came in quite a big dish (twice the size of the usual size) and was lovely as it also came with 2 shortbread biscuits. My husband had the apple and cinnamon crumble with a huge helping of whipped ice cream.
Most of the menu was home cooked food and this was evident with the puddings which were both extremely nice.
The pub/restaurant its self was beautifully fitted out and plenty of tables at which to sit. As we arrived at 5pm the place was quite quiet but I would suspect that would change once 6pm arrived and the carvery served.
Service,food and value for money = 5*
