We traveled over 20 hours from the USA only to pay for the manager to make me cry. He does not listen to what you say even though he says he "wants to communicate." He is cold, unfriendly, and rude. We did not feel welcome. We did not feel safe. He was unempathetic of my severe allergy to mosquitos and basically forced us to eat breakfast outside, putting me at risk of getting sick. We kindly asked the server who said it was okay but apparently didn't "communicate" with his worker and instead blamed it on us for not "communicating" with him. When I told him this was not okay he complained about his past with tourists being upset. Sorry we are paying for your service and you should be accommodating like a host, not come out and yell at us and then try to justify it. He made me cry and never apologized. From that point on I felt negativity and uneasiness the rest of my trip. Our holiday or rather the holiday he allowed us to have was ruined after all the travel and money we paid to get there. NEVER STAY HERE!

We booked the Kaafu inn. But when we arrived there, the host told us the rooms are full and sent us here and since it was closer to beach we agreed.
The inn itself is good and clean and near beach but not on the beach, it's in an alley. The problem was the Host FAHUDH. He is very cheating and you shouldn't trust him at all. He tries to take much more money than he should. At the first night he told us he booked one dinner at cafe woodgarden and another program of local people dance and music at the beach at 8 and 10 pm, respectively. When at 8 pm we went to woodgarden they told us the party begins at 9:30 pm! We came back to equity beach inn and told Fahudh, after he called woodgarden owner, he told us the fish is not ready yet! and that's why it begins at 9:30 which obviously he lied because everybody else came after 9 pm so Fahudh made mistake and didn't want to take responsibility. I told him then we wanna cancel the dance program because we couldn't make it on time now that dinner begins at 9:30, but he didn't want to accept. The day after he arranged a big sand bank and snorkeling tour which was supposed to be from 9 am till 3 or 4 pm . But it began at 11 am and finished at 1 pm without proper snorkelling!!! We were totally 1 hour in the sand bank:/
Third day I asked him how much speedboat to Mahfushi cost he told us 50 but later put 60 dollars in the bill and he said that the 50 dollars boat wasn't available which was after getting the bill in the last day.
When we recieved the bill we realized that he want to take money for the dance program which we couldn't go because of his mistake. Moreover, he wanted to take full cost of sand bank and snorkelling trip as well!!!
In general, the place was clean and safe but the host couldn't be trust at all.

We stayed here 3 nights because we had read the good reviews. We were very disappointed to say the least. The trip started well, we were met at Male Airport by two great guys who helped us to get to the ferry to Guraidhoo. They were very helpful.

The staff are also very friendly people, as long as you're not complaining.

First of all, if you want privacy and peace, this is not the place for you. The bedrooms are basically in the reception (the reception counter was 1,5 meters from our door) and we were wall to wall with the hangout room for the staff. This means that you hear EVERYTHING- they play music in the reception until midnight (even though there is no one there sometimes) and we woke up several times during the night because of staff coming home / talking outside our room at 3am. With that said, the rooms are clean and nice, good air condition.

FOR girls: We read about a nice beach before we came here- good to know is that this is NOT a bikini beach, and girls have to cover everywhere on the island except for a separate bikini beach which is 10 min away and it's not very nice, full of bats and there is garbage everywhere. The photo of the beach on this site is from an excursion.

FOOD: I wouldn't eat here- price for rice only is 8(!) dollars. There is a cafe right next to the Inn on the beach where we payed 11 dollars total for two people. Super good food. Of course the owner of Equity Inn was a bit offended that we didn't eat with them and told us that we shouldn't go there because the quality was bad. Saw him there the next night though.

Don't except things to happen on time and for any information/apology: We were told the breakfast was supposed to be from 7:30am to 9am. We also booked an excursion with the owners where we were supposed to leave at 9am. My husband woke up at 7:30 to eat, but the owners didn't actually wake up before 9am. We didn't leave to the excursion until 10:30. No information given, no apologies, and definitely no discount. We were supposed to be with the 2 owners and another couple, but when we left we noticed that they also brought their neighbour (who stared at us the whole time like he has never seen people in swimwear, it was quite uncomfortable) and their neighbour kid (who they made do a lot of the work around the Inn btw even though he was a kid). The sandbank was suddenly a bit more crowded than expected, and it felt like we just payed for them to chill out, play load music and smoke. When we first left with the boat, 1,5 late, we actually had to go back again because the owner forgot his own gopro. that took another 10 minutes. No explanation, no apologies, they just turned the boat and didn't explain anything. That's basically what our whole stay looked like. The day itself was nice at the sandbank- it was so beautiful and the food they brought was good. Good advice: don't by that cheap local sunscreen - it doesnt work! haha

When we came back and we asked gently about the reason for the change in the schedule, they acted offended and suddenly became very short with us- suddenly we had to pay to use their pink kids bikes etc. It was very noticeable and uncomfortable, the only reason we didn't leave was because they had already arranged a boat back for us to Male (which was a nice gesture btw). Note that even negotiated prices for tours are without taxes.

Of course it is an rather cheap option and we were not expecting a luxury hotel. I was not expecting this kind of behaviour from the staff though, which made it all unbearable. We would way rather have payed a bit more and stayed in Holiday Inn.
