We looked for a place near the old train station on Manhattan, KS. There are 4 or 5 places within a few steps of the station. We chose the Holiday Inn Express. They gave me the government rate even though I was not on official business. Very cool. Excellent service from every person here. The breakfast was excellent. Very nice affordable hotel. Close to downtown. Highly recommended if you're in Manhattan, KS

We stayed here during our move to Ft. Riley after researching several hotels in the area. I like to read the reviews and I found the negative ones, not an issue other than the breakfast - which they did do a terrible job of keeping stocked and in all fairness, I didn't ask. Beds and pillows weren't the best ever but pretty standard for a hotel. Front desk staff was very friendly.

Biggest bonus for us was the fee for pets. Most of the other hotels in the area charge a high per night fee or a per pet fee, In fact, I only found one that did not charge in junction city and it was a motel. This hotel charges only $25 per stay for pets.

We stayed in a two bed suite for $122 and it had a pull out couch. There was also a small fridge and coffee maker. Plenty of room for one adult, two kids, and two big dogs.

Being new to the area the location was amazing. There is a nice coffee shop adjacent to the hotel, a cute little park, theater, mall, and shopping area all within a short walk. Nice pool and workout area.

Room Tip: pet friendly for small fee

Our reservation was made well in advance since motel/hotel rooms are hard to come by on game day week-ends in Manhattan Ks. Was impressed that I received an e-mail a few days before confirming & welcoming me to Manhattan. We arrived in Manhattan before noon and game time was 2:30 decided to call and ask if we could have an early check in front desk checked and said we could I wish I would have remembered her name because she was most professional & welcoming. Everything about the hotel & service was awesome. Will for certain keep this hotel on our radar!! Just have to add and I know as in any Football town rates are pushed up for gameday week-ends.

We're glad you had a great game day with us! We try our best to have the rooms ready early, particularly when we have an early afternoon kick like we did Saturday. We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review and hope to see you back soon!

We stayed here just one night while driving from Colorado through Kansas. We chose this hotel because it's pet friendly, has free breakfast and we are familiar with the area it is located in Manhattan.
It is within walking distance to restaurants and downtown shopping, plus the mall. There is a nice public square across the street with water fountains and grass to walk your dogs. It is in a safe area but close to the highway for people traveling. We prefer this area over the K state university area in Aggyville.
The room was very clean and modern. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom however only had a walk in shower, no tub. There was a coffee maker in the room along with a microwave and a mini refrigerator.
They put us on the first floor in a room at the end of the hallway by the exits to the side of the building. I'm guessing it was because we were traveling with dogs so we could easily get them in and out. We noticed all of the heavy metal doors are not equipped with any kind of soft closing system so they just slam shut really hard and very loudly!! This is the same with all of the hotel room doors so you can hear every person going in and out of their room all hours of the night or day. It's extremely loud banging unless the person guides the door closed....but who can do that when they have their hands full of luggage?
Breakfast the next morning was delicious and we especially enjoyed the eggs with peppers.
Besides the doors...we had a pleasant stay and would stay again.

We're glad you had a great stay. You're right that when we know a guest has a pet, we try to keep them with easy access to the outdoors. I'm sorry to hear about the doors banging. They do have soft closing mechanisms that we will be adjusting to fix this going forward. We hope to have you back on your next trip out of the mountains!

Anjelica at the front desk was so amazing, professional, and welcoming. We stayed here for about a month. I'm so happy we stayed here and did not continue our reservation elsewhere. Angelica offered us the military rate and a flexible check out date as we searched for housing. Anything we needed she went out of her way to make it happen! Thank you!
