My family and I visited here for a Friday night dinner. The atmosphere is wonderful. Cozy and warm. The service was okay. My dinner of pecan-crusted chicken over pureed sweet potatoes was wonderful. Others at my table ordered the fried chicken which they said was too salty. Not sure if this was due to our Northern roots or not. I ordered the hot slaw - which is cabbage tossed with a heat hot vinegar dressing. This was amazing. I loved it! I would visit again.

What a wonderful meal! Do you remember those traditional Sunday brunches with your parents or grandparents? This is the place. Homey feel with wonderful food. The wait staff is very attentive and the food is so good, made with care.

Real treat when you are looking for something special or just want to get out of a chain restaurant feel. Don't miss the fried chicken!

When you're on the road and looking for a decent meal, it's a pleasant surprise to run across a place like Greyhound Tavern. Handsome dining rooms, attentive, knowledgeable staff, surprisingly modest prices, diverse menus to meet the needs of meat and fish eaters as well as vegetarians. What more do you need? Great food? Boy howdy does this restaurant deliver.

A pimento cheese made from smoked Gouda instead of cheddar was a perfect way to begin our recent lunch, especially accompanied by the addictive warm, seasoned pita chips.

The salmon harvest salad – a variety of greens, mandarin oranges, candied pecans and locally sourced garden herb cheese – was a nice accompaniment to the large portion of perfectly cooked salmon. The well-prepared fried chicken livers, resting on a base of mashed potatoes, sauteed onions and roasted corn, was more than I could eat. Though I still kind of wish the dish had a bit more of the flavorful chicken gravy.

We're glad this restaurant is less than three hours from our home. It makes for a promising day trip in the future, no doubt timed to include the Sunday brunch, where we'll get to try some of the fried chicken and bread pudding that regulars seem to rave about.

There are still restaurants that combine near perfect home style cooking with impeccable southern charm right here in northern Kentucky, (Thanks Carla for the superb service). From the fantastic (already raves about by others) fried chicken to the onion ring appetizer, to the soft fire in the fireplace, this was a perfect after Christmas afternoon.

Visited the Tavern two weeks ago with neighbors and our expectations were happily satisfied. The fried chicken was absolutely wonderful. It was served family-style for the 5 of us along with green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw, and biscuits and honey. As good of a country meal as you could expect. Will definitely return when the chicken craving returns. Suggest getting a table in a carpeted area of the restaurant which may not be as noisy.
